you should be more exact on the question...punches can break faces depending on how strong the punch was...so no matter how many time u get him it really isn't really going to toughen a face although it can toughen the person.......but a small trick to not getting a broken face is to go with the punch..if you stand stiff as a rock your face can break.

A lot has to do with the angle of the jaw - the closer the jaw is set at 90 degrees, the less likely it is to be displaced.
Also, it seems that having a huge head (e.g., Leben, Ortiz, Penn) helps.
Case in point - that punch that Leben took from Terry Martin just before the end of the fight would have knocked out 99 out of 100 men, but it didn't even hurt Leben.

Genetics.

You don't "make" your face strong, you can develop skill to avoid punches, and avoid the tender areas, so you can also apply a substance (like vaseline) to make it slippery and let punches slide.

You can, however, develop a good chin (be hard to knock out), by bitting the mouthpiece, and keeping your jaw muscles tight.

no its not really your bone rebreaking thing , I can see how that would apply to the shin and elbows , but your face bones are to fragile. Its just mma people when sparing in the gym , they get hit in the face allot , and learn how to deal with it , its nothing new , if you hit a pedistrain in the nose , his eyes will tear up and he will be in a shock like ouch that hurt. but if you hit a mma fighter in the nose , it will stun him for like a 10th of a second , and then he will just punch u back in the face on reflex. and also some people out there are just bad mofos who dont mind getting hit in the face ,as long as they get to do a little hitting back of their own. check out wanderli silvas fights.

When bones regrow, they are made stonger. Kinda hwo muscles become bigger when you damage or burn ( exercise) them.

If your arm brakes, when your arm bone is goign to regrow, its going to form a bulkier mass. Braking or even just fissuring your bones will make them regrow to somethign stronger.

Some one will punch really weak, if a correct reverse punch is thrown, by a experienced fighter, death is the only answer.
