How through are military background checks for enlistment? Is there really any way to hide anything with internet background checks on insurance listings? Is there a way to exspunge something off of your record?

wow, I'm not a criminal or anything. I really was just wondering with todays technology how so many people are saying that they're "tricking" the system.
I have no intention of hiding anything. Why join a group based on integrity if you don't have any?
That would suck.

Unless you need a Top Secret clearance it will not be super thorough. You can get court stuff expunged but if you need a Top Secret they will find it.

Vet-USAF 44MMS / Nuclear Missiles Maint. Spec. TS clearance needed.

Good Luck

The first thing that will happen is that they will conatct the police departments of each city/town you've lived in since you started high school, and the FBI, and ask for a criminal report sheet.

If you need a security clearance you'll fill out a questionaire that will be the basis of an in depth background check.

My advice would be to not worry about expunging anything and being completely honest and up front about any thing you think may be negative.

Wow, two answers and each at a different end of the spectrum.

If they do a standard check it would be quite thorough. As for expunging a record...usually only court records on minors.

So what do you have to hide? You just can't hide anywhere anymore.

none whatsoever. no such thing as expunged as far as the federal government is concerned. you MUST disclose EVERYTHING. failure to do so for any reason is fraudulent enlistment and will get you into a lot of trouble..including be discharged with no benefits.

depends, do you need a security clearance for your MOS, if so, pretty in depth, then theres then question of the need for a SCI, which means more in depth in needed. if those are needed, then no, theres no getting it expunged the government can get , and will find it.
