He is a very picky eater, he won't eat any meat besides hotdogs and chicken nuggets, no veggies and rarely fruit. He doesn't seem to be getting a well balanced diet and it worries me. Sometimes he will gag on hamburger and actually throw it up, so I'm not sure if its a chewing problem or he just doesn't want it. I also think he may have add, he even forgets he's eating sometimes, he doesn't pay attention to anything, so I don't know, any ideas?????

I have tried chicken in every form, pot roast, turkey, ham, pork chops, it's not like i enjoy feeding my kids this junk, but it's the only thing that will eat, and i won't obviously let him starve.....

talk to his doctor about getting a speech therapy evaluation with a speech pathologist with a specialty in feeding problems. They can give you some good ideas to facilitate oral motor and chewing development.

my 4 year old son is doing very similar eating.except he eats no meat at all
The pediatrition put him on 3 pediasures a day and a multivitamin once a day.He couldn't concentrate on much before this, because he wasn't getting proper nutrition and was hungry alot. Now that he has been on this diet he acts like a new child. He is happier and able to cocentrate on tasks.
You might want to talk to the doctor or a nutritionist if you do decide to do this.

I completely understand where you are coming from ,my son won't eat any vegetables either and the only fruit he eats are bananas and I have also tried everything under the sun and it has been over a year now and he is still drinking the pediasure. He eats cheese pizza occasionally and spaghetti on rare occasions.I would feel better if he would even eat a chicken nugget.
If you decide on giving him pediasure as a food suppliment you can buy them almost anywhere

Then dont make him eat the hamburger...its probably better that way anyway. Try making some goo homecooked meals instead of chicken nuggets and hamburgers.

He's probably not ready to eat the hamburger yet or he doesn't like the texture. I wouldn't give it to him. . . there's plenty of other foods a three year old can eat.
