Look, the president cannot make laws, despite the views of some incredibly government knowledge lacking Americans on this site. The president's main responsibility does not have to do with lawmaking. If I felt a homosexual was the best choice for president, then yeah I would definitley vote for him or her.

I would vote for him (or her), assuming I agreed with his/her political views and opinions.

Just because there's a homosexual in the presidency doesn't mean that every law is going to change, since it has to be drafted and pass through Congress before the president ever sees it.

For me, more important than what bills they would sign or veto is how they would represent the people of the United States in international relations. I think a homosexual could do as good of a job in that role as the current president, almost certainly better, in fact.

Why is this question in R&S?

I don't vote by the candidate's sexual preference or religion. I vote by considering a number of other issues, including their political competence. If a homosexual proves to be the best person for the job, I have no problem with voting for them. Their sexuality isn't any of my business, anyway.

Actually the President would not be able to change the law him or herself. They would need help from the legislature and I think more than likely the issue would be at the state level. Our governor here in Az. is rumored to be lesbian and she's in my opinion the best governor we've ever had. Az. continues to be conservative on the issue.
All that being said, after weighing the issues if they were the best qualified then yes I would

Well, yea, I would. If his/her political beliefs were ones that I agreed with, sure. Honestly, I don't have a problem with homosexuality - I don't think they should be MARRIED, considering that is a Christian word (right?) for unison of a man and woman. The fact that some of the homosexual community wishes to change that is well, it's against the separation of church and state. But if it was just a gay Barack Obama, yea I'd vote for him.

I have no problem with the idea of a homosexual being president. I support legalizing gay marriage, but I wouldn't vote for a homosexual for president solely because I thought he/she would help legalize gay marriage. It would depend on whether or not I agreed with their politics overall.

It depends on what their opinions and policies were. The fact that they were homosexual wouldn't matter at all. And if they tried to change the laws regarding gay marriage, then I would consider that an improvement.

Sure.
Actually, at this point, I think many Americans would vote for a can of tuna. Hey, it couldn't do a worse job of running the country as Bush has!

I would very happily vote for anyone who supports the a platform that I agree with, whether gay, straight or some combination of the two. Its the person that counts, not their sex life.

If that person were qualified for the position... of course, I would. However, popular vote doesn't matter. The electoral college determines who becomes president. So really, it's a moot point.
