I want to get a good long lasting shotgun that is not a semi auto and under $300. I looked it to Benelli, Stoeger, and franchi, out of those i liked the Benelli Nova pump, and the Stoeger p-350. I dont know much about shotguns and I love all the info I can get. Any sigestions? Please help me. Thank you.

Benelli Nova or the Remington 870 are the best two out their for their price. Remington is known for being reliable and good quality. I prefer my Nova but look at both. I've shot Stoegers and Charles Daly's but they didn't have the same quality looks or feeling compared to the Nova and 870. Go with what feels best to you. Pick the one that shoulders best or the one that you think will last forever.

I would suggest going up just a bit and getting a Remington 870. It really doesnt get any better for a field gun !

The Benelli Nova is a good shotgun aswell. I wouldnt buy a Stoeger at all. This is only my opinion, go for a 870 Remington !

Good Luck & Happy Shooting !

Remington 870. I have owned a couple of these and believe them to be the best on the market today. If you take care of this gun it will outlast you! You can purchase the express model new for $300 here: http://www.gunsamerica.com/Search/Category/540/Remington-Shotguns.htm. This model will shoot all 12-gauge loads up to 3-inch magnums. For about $40 more you can buy an 870 Express Supermag which will also fire 3 1/2" magnums shell, essentially 10-gauge equivalent loads. There are also more aftermarket accessories for the 870 than any other.

For a good value and a dependable shotgun I have been using the new mossberg models like the 500, 590, 835 or the 935. The 500 and the 835 are pump and they will do you very well.

DO NOT GET THE ONES YOU LOOKED AT get a Remington 870. depending on what you are going to do with it i would get the mag 12 gauge which is chambered for 3 inch shell(and yes that means you can use smaller ones as well) you can do anything to the gun and it will still fire. that being said make sure you do take care of it but it will last you much longer and take much more punishment.

What would you be using the gun for? Big game, bird hunting, target? I would go to a good, well known, gun store and talk. I looked at many good shotguns until i found my Remington 1187 Premier Cantilever Deer Gun. I held the gun and knew it was the one. Its important to see how the gun feels to you.
