Finally some REAL scientists have done some REAL research and found that global warming is better explained by "natural factors such as solar variability" and that "that attempts to control CO2 emissions are ineffective and pointless." read the article here http://science-sepp.blogspot.com/2007/12/press-release-dec-10-2007.html

This global warming thing has gotten out of control, an Australian professor Barry Walters is suggesting that a carbon tax be put on babies! Read that here http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/12/10/2114493.htm

So all you Global Warming Honks, do you still think it is your fault?

I probably shouldn't have linked to a "blogg" it has nothing to do with fred singer, he just posted it on his blogg, here is another link. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/908

Also this is not the only research that has been done on this topic, it is just the most recent of a list of many. Research it.

Google "The Great Global Warming Swindle" and watch the movie.

Larry, you'll never convince most people that we are not the cause...why? because they refuse to think there is nothing we can do to stop it, they want to think that somehow if we all pull together we can make the world last forever... we'll that is not possible... the earth has a lifespan and someday it will end... not anytime soon, but it will end. i mean think about the last ice age... it was a natural occurrence, the dinosaur was not using hairspray or driving a SUV.... at least not in the history books i read...
the truth is some people can not take the truth and therefor are in denial... having egotistical notions that the human race can stop a course that has been in motion for thousands of years....

keep spreading the word my friend...

You are lucky to be on that side of the arguement because it's the right side. 1) The climate of the Earth has been changingfor millions of years, humans have no effect on the overal climate of the earth. 2) Scientists have yet to prove that changes in C02 cause the earth to heat up. Some eveidence points to the climate getting hotter and then more C02 being released into the atmosthshpere. 3) The polar ice caps are NOT melting. Some of the ice in the north pole may be melting, but more ice than ever is appearing in the South Pole. Al Gores's An inconveinent Truth is full of lies and doesn't even use real pictures. The main scenes of the movie used the fake sets from The Day After Tomorrow, explain that Al Gore!!!! Well good luck!!

Of course it is our fault. Your link is to another well intended professional that is guessing. It is unfortunate that Co2 got represented as the cause because that is what divided the professionals of the world. The science of Co2 can't be verified, it is all we had for science because the whole process was signed off as compliant after being designed in a calculator or read from a thermostat.

Go and see what the global warming honks at Thermografix Consulting Corporation did. They did several years of work proving building and development performance. Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.html and see the heat we are generating on the surface of the planet.

Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/pdfs/Western_Climate_Initiative_Partners_2007.pdf and see where this company is challenging the Western Governors and Provinces.

That would be fantastic if it were true.

The blog you referred to is apparently run by Dr S Fred Singer, President, SEPP.

"Climate skeptic S. Fred Singer founded Science and Environmental Policy Project in 1990. SEPP's mission is 'to clarify the diverse problems facing the planet and, where necessary, arrive at effective, cost-conscious solutions.'"

Dr S Fred Singer's Science and Environmental Policy Project has received $20,000 from ExxonMobil. Dr S Fred Singer is a co-author of the paper he promotes on his blog, which you reference for us.

"SEPP was the author of the Leipzig Declaration, which was supposedly based on the 'scientfic' conclusions drawn from a November 1995 conference in Leipzig, Germany, which SEPP organized with the European Academy for Environmental Affairs. SEPP publicly used the Declaration to suggest there is little scientific consensus on global warming. According to P.R. Watch, news reporters discovered that in the end, twenty-five of the signers were TV weathermen - a profession that requires no in-depth knowledge of climate research. Other signers included a dentist, a medical laboratory researcher, a civil engineer, and an amateur meteorologist. Of the 33 European signers, four of them could not be located, 12 denied ever having signed, and some had not even heard of the Leipzig Declaration."

In a February 2001 letter to the Washington Post, Singer denied receiving funding from the oil industry, except for consulting work some 20 years prior. SEPP, however, received multiple grants from ExxonMobil, including 1998 and 2000.

So I'm all ears. What convinces you that this guy who has set up his own organization to work for the past 16 years to discredit global warming and allegedly has multiple misleading acts to his credit is now telling the truth and presenting "REAL research" (valid, unbiased science)?

This is AWESOME. I love Prof. Christy's and Prof. Singer's previous work, and this is just another piece of great evidence.
How do you dispute the fact that, with greenhouse warming, the atmosphere should be warming faster than the surface, and it simply is not doing that?
The trouble is that, whether the evidence is disputable or not, people just keep ignoring the strong science put out, because they don't want to hear that they can't do anything.
The media will just keep shoving crap down our throats about the increasing intensity of hurricanes (although they're not increasing in number or power), the extinction of the polar bear (although the population is growing in warmer areas, and the overall number is stable), and the melting of the ice caps (although both Antarctica and Greenland are gaining ice-mass), and how it is our fault that life on earth will cease in 2050 (even though it won't).
The point is, you can't convince the "honks" to believe something so simple, when they want it to be a valiant fight for the well-being of the planet. Someone will just "discredit" this article by saying something lame and false like "they're paid by big oil companies!!!!" or, like campbelp2002, "it's from a blog, so it's not a credible source!!!" so that they don't have to acknowledge the truth of it.

Yes there are many studies (like yours) that back up the theory that it is not our fault. And they back it up really well and it is really convincing

However there are studies exactly like these that argue exactly the opposite thing which are just as convincing and use just as basic (and complex) science to justify there point.

I think the conclusion should be ... WE JUST DON"T KNOW.
But I think carbon emissions should be reduced even if it doesn't have anything to do with global warming. It has other benefits especially when it come to renewabiltity and keeping the air pollution free etc. And since society is in the stage where we still DON'T KNOW is it not worth a try?

GLOBAL WARMING IS INEVITABLE. But whether it is due to increases in c02- who knows? Maybe in future years but in 2007 it is not clear

Yes.. yes..yes. We all know but don't want to take the balm of global warming 100%. B4 we were trying to figure out was for all of the world to come together and stop this travisty from happining. Now its not anyones fault thats a load of bull if you ask me. Yes prob it will happen on its own global warming but because of the world that we live in we are speeding up the process of global warming.

Since the dawn of man, people have believed that the world is coming to an end and that it is man's greed and avarice that will destroy the planet.

This is just the latest version that politicians have clung on to to use people's natural desires for guilt to control them with large taxes and restrictions on freedoms.

Socialists never quit trying to control us even though socialism has been an utter failure every time it has been tried. (Well, it's a failure for the people, not the ones in power, that is.)

That first link just says that measurements don't match their greenhouse models so they assume the greenhouse effect doesn't exist. Why didn't it occur to them that the greenhouse effect exists, but their model is wrong?
