Why is it that when most people talk about Illegal Immigrants some people imminently think about Mexicans?

They talk about them as if there the only country that has immigrants that want to come to america.

Being 65% of those that are here illgally are from Mexico, I would say it's a safe bet that many would conclued that Mexico is a major sourse of illigal immigration

First thing is that Mexico is closest to the United States. There is all types of work and employers for illegal Mexicans. If the Americans would stop being lazy and work at alot of these jobs that Mexicans have, there would be no demand or need for them to be here in the States. There has always been immigrants from Mexico, but due to the fact of special interest groups and other such agencies we now are dealing with illegals from Mexico. It's a known fact that we have families here in the US that have to go without because one parent or both are unemployed having a hard time making ends meet. To avoid discrimination and being called a racist the people from Mexico are entering the United States illegal and receiving whatever they can get from the US. That where the problem with all illegals comes about they're being taken care of before the families here in the US.

It's because the Illegals come from Mexico through the border. The truth is Mexican citizens DO make up the majority of the illegals in the USA. That said, virtually every other central and south American country is represented within the illegal population in the USA. THAT said, we also have a significant amount of illegals from all over the world. The Visa over-stayers.
Personally I never use the word "Mexican" I prefer the genderless, colorless, raceless term "Illegal Alien"...It covers them all. From Swedes to Argentinians.

I don't necessarily think of Mexicans when I think of illegal ALIENS, more I think of the Mexican border and what is coming in from all over the world. OH NO! I am not that naive and neither is my Country. Oh and I don't know why people who call illegals,(immigrants), instead of ALIENS, BUT I DO KNOW THERE IS NO SUCH ANIMAL. If you aren't legally here you are alien to Americans. We can not tolerate the disease, criminal behavior, and take on the cost, while we continue to offer what we all know as the American dream. We understand you say you want to be legal. GET THAT WAY, or the USA will suffer all of the down falls seen in so many countries who's people flee here for a better life.

Because they comprise the largest percentage of illegal aliens, due to the fact that they are a border country. However, there are people who assume that if a person speaks Spanish that they are Mexican, and illegal to boot. There are some legal immigrants who are Mexican. Puerto Ricans who speak Spanish are actually American citizens. As to illegal aliens, there are some that are Spanish speaking, but come from other Spanish speaking countries and are assumed to be Mexican (it gets on my nerves when people do that).

I am all for stopping the problems with illegal aliens being in the country, but I equally detest the stereotyping and ethnic labelling.

Yes illegals come from over 100 countries.

But all the other countries numbers COMBINED do not even come close to the number of Mexicans who are illegal.

For most people it is simply a numbers issue.

I think I heard that about 60-80% or more of all illegals are from Mexico.

My Guess would be because we are so over-run with mexicans.Schools having to accommodate spanish speaking kids. If you go to the mall chances are you will see bunch of mexicans and have to hear their gibberish.
Call customer service you get a message to continue in English press 1.Open instructions to something you have to search for the English version.Where has the old U.S.A, gone??????
