As the others have said, you're not a Vegetarian and there is no such thing as a "red-meat vegetarian." But, I won't beat a dead horse. To lose weight, eat less, move more. You should aim for four to six small meals a day with breakfast being the largest, but if you cannot: eat like a king the morning, a queen in the afternoon, and a peasant at night. Eat the majority of your calories earlier in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods.

Hello
You will lose weight if your caloric intake is lower than your caloric expenditure. So if you just cut on something and not add something else , you will lose weight ( considering that you maintain the same level of activity as before)
A lb of fat contains about 3500 kCal, so you need to burn 3500 kCal more than you eat , just to get rid of it.
A healthy rate of fat loss is about 1% of your body weight over a week. If someone has a lot of excess weight 1.5 % of the body weight over one week is very good.
Fast weight loss diets do not work ( at least 90 % of the people who lose weight fast and without exercise will end up gaining weight again , or even more )
So I strongly recommend to :
1. Have a healthy diet - eat 300- 500 kCal less than you burn ( 500-1000 if very overweight)
2. Exercise - strength training and cardio training - will help you burn extracalories and maintain you lean body mass
3. Active living - walk, climb stairs, do house work, play, etc
Good luck
