There is no easy answer to this question.
But there's no reason you can't set aside your beliefs for awhile, to think about your faith, whatever it is, and see where you are led next.
I believe that God calls everyone to himself, and people can heed or ignore that call. But sometimes, just like God says, "wait upon the Lord," likewise, then, God knows that God will sometimes have to wait upon his people.
If you have been harmed by a religious or church experience, it is important to get some help for healing about that, because it CAN feel devastating.
Otherwise, though, don't feel guilty about letting go of things if they weren't working for you. Eventually, your heart and spirit will heal, and you'll work out a new way of living your faith, or maybe even a new faith.
Peace to you.

If you are talking about losing your faith please don't, and when you say panned out, who do you mean for, As a Christian I am in the business of serving Christ, not Christ serving me, remember God doesn't change, we change, I personally have prayers that have never came about and I have prayed them for years, but as long as I am breathing I will still pray them. As Christians we have to just turn over everything to Jesus and let him live His life thru us. Thats what He wants to do, We can't live our lives thru Him. He is the potter and we are the clay, Proverbs 3:5-6, talk about trusting in the Lord and letting him Lead. When our dreams are in line with His will for us then things begin to really happen. Continue to read your Bible, and attend Church, Pray that Jesus will show you what you need to be doing to restore the joy of your Salvation, good luck and God Bless You the Christmas Season.

A new belief. We may often be wrong, but the heart is big enough to belive again and again until we find the right path for ourselves. Blessed Be and never ever allow yourself to totally lose hope.

The soul can know no peace without Jesus.
Negative thinking is a byproduct of Satan.
With Faith there is no doubt. With no doubt there is no fear.
When you finally believe you will find peace.

Well Nancy. After the devastation of realizing you were wrong. Comes denial, then the anger, then the acceptance...and repeat if necessary. Then Nancy you will get on with your life.
"This too shall pass"....lol

You search, and leave behind what wasn't true, but you don't give up on truth being there. It's all a journey, for all of us.
Blessings to you.
