I'm making Spritz and it calls for a cookie press but I dont have one. I don't even really know what they are. So what can I do instead?

I've used a big ziploc bag and i cut the corner off. You can easily make finger shaped cookies or spiral shaped ones with it. And when you're finished all you do is toss it. I own a cookie press, but find it easier and faster to use a bag. A cookie press does give you fancier results...but only holds about half a batch of cookies and is a pain to refill (it works like a big syringe that pushes the dough through a shaped disk) and then when you're done you have to clean the thing...I have to force myself to use my cookie press every year because I think it was a waste of money and I curse the entire time that I have to mess with it.
Hope this helps, Happy Holidays and Happy Baking!

It is usually a metal cylinder that you fill with the cookie dough and then you push the dough out onto your cookie sheet. A manual one usually isn't that expensive. Probably about 15.00 or less for a cheap one at walmart. I am not sure if there is anything else you can use.

a pastry bag.... or use a heavier plastic bag cutting out one of the corners, squeezing the dough through the opening...... worth a try right? if it dosent work, you can go to walmart and buy a cookie press for about ten bucks.
