Impoverishing their nation? Are you serious. Yeah, cuz it was like NYC there before we got there.
They are doing their job. Just because you don't agree with the war doesn't mean you can't still support the troops. And no, I do not find it at all irresponsible. I am very proud of my husband, and while it sucks, guess what, we all know this can happen before we marry them. You are the one no one should have any respect for...and I haven't seen anyone on here that does.

I don't think it irresponsible at all. When a person joins the service, they are told and know that they could be called to fight in a war if need be. Whether the war is right or wrong, our soldiers have been ordered by the Commander in Chief to go and fight to keep the peace in Iraq. If it was not for our soldiers willingness to fight for our rights and freedoms, we could all be talking German, Japanese or Russian right now and be under a dictatorship with no right and freedoms.

First of all, yes, this war does mean something. Do people in foreign countries mean nothing to you? They are people just like you are. If someone is fighting for our country to help stop the violence in other countries, I could hardly call that irresponsible. We should have respect for them because they are willing to sacrifice their lives for our protection. If nobody faught in the war, then the war would come over to our country and we would probably have more attacks against us. Our military keeps us safe at home by holding other countries back. I have the utmost respect for anyone willing to put their lives at risk for our country and they are doing it selflessly too.
TV is very persuasive to people and the media portrays the war as bad, so, naturally people disapprove. Other people's opinions shouldn't change what's right and what's wrong.

Wow... you are so ill-informed. We are not fighting the Iraqi's. We initially were fighting Saddam's forces to oust his regime, for the protection of the Iraqi people. Which we have done. At this time, we are fighting Al-Queda in Iraq, and some other insurgents, most of whom are NOT Iraqi's, but are terrorists who have been brought in from Iran and Syria to terrorize the Iraqi people and do as much damage to our forces as possible. We don't dabble in roadside bombs, IED's, suicide bombings, car bombings, etc... that's THEM...

As for your question... No. It is not irresponsible for a man or woman to make a commitment to serve their country in the military and do whatever it takes to fulfill that commitment. It's the folks who enjoy the freedoms men like my son provide and then turn around and bash him for providing them that are irresponsible.

Go watch your CNN and FoxNews, you might miss them telling you what to think about another matter.

Serisouly, Just because you dont have the cojones to fight for your country or another persons country, dont put down the people that do stand up.

And by the way, just remember the people that do the surveys of War Approval Ratings are the same people that critisize it on the news every night.
Thats like having Phillip Morris doing an Approval Rating on Smoking, I bet it would come out with a 75% approval.

Okay well I guess I must be a crappy parent to those 30% because my husband and I both deployed to Iraq at the same time leaving our son behind.
I could care less what those people think. It was a option my husband and I decided to do. For the people who think this war is nothing I guess it is nice to have freedom as long as others are willing to make the sacrifice for it.
I respect all military members.

It is the most responsible thing to do. And we should have utmost respect for them.

It is the military's duty in a democracy to obey orders regardless of the politics involved. If the military did whatever they wanted according to their own politics then we have a rogue military. Thats what happens in countries that become ruled by a military dictatorship.

I would explain this further but I doubt you have any sense of what responsibility and respect are.

Once again, you're flaunting your ignorance for the whole world to see. It sounds as though your anger should be directed towards the politicians not us. And, by the way, if you were even SOMEWHAT intelligent (which we all know you're not), you would back up your arguement with some credible sources. But, I guess there's not enough pictures in the news for you to figure out what's really going on.

I have the greatest respect for any American who joins a volunteer army and fights for his country, whether or not he believes in the reasons for the war. That's one of the things that makes America great, the courage and dedication of its armed services. Your question certainly paints an ugly picture of what kind of person you are.

Since when are approval rightings indicative of what is right and what is wrong? Since when are wars based on popularity contests? If HE believes he's fighting for what HE believes to be right, at least he has a lot more courage and conviction than someone hiding at home insulting him from behind a computer.
