Well, I've been advised I'm going to hell on this board so many times now I could probably get a group discount for my family and friends.

Why is this such a standard method of getting your point across on here? Atheists don't go around telling people that if they continue to believe in God, there won't be an afterlife.

Hmm. OK, well, I can see why that wouldn't work so well.

Seriously, though. To the guys out there who play this trump card every round, why? Is it part of what you're taught, that non-believers should be threatened with the stick, so you get to keep the carrots? Is this the love thy neighbour policy? Do you actually think I'm going to be concerned about going to a place I don't believe in? I'd be more intimidated if you threatened to send me to Disneyland. Are you glad to tell me this? Happy? Gassy?

Yes, yes. I know all Christians don't do this. Especially you there, fingers poised above the keyboard to protest. But if you have, what's /that/ all about?

The thing about threatening me with Hell is that the people who do such things usually are actually hurting their cause, because my first thought is "Well, if you're not going to be there, it can't be all that bad."

First I have say that I hold the presupposition that the God of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham, the great I AM is the one true God. So I will speak that.

The fact is, whether anyone wants to believe it, everyone will be judged and sent to a literal heaven or hell.

Some people that are over zelous and really condenming are not really examples of how Jesus says to share the Gospel.

Now on the other hand its not condemning to say that if you do not accept Christ as your savior will go to hell. The Bible is very clear on that. It's not a threat its not anyone trying to twist you arm its just the brute fact of where people will spend eternity if they choose to reject God.

I do not condone preaching about all the ways someone will go to hell because the real reason is sin. We all sin. It's why we need a savior.

Athieism is an irrational religion. It creates more problems than it trys to solve.

You will one day have to face death and while it might not concern you now it will eventually. You have a lot of unknowns with the worldview you have taken. I would take more time to really look at the Bible, God's word, as he meant you to see it.

Ha ha ha ha ha ... fingers poised .... ha ha ha ... sorry tears are rolling and not from the sulphurous fumes..... oh my, family discounts.....
Thanks for saying what I was going to. Saves me alot of time.
still lol

And you already do know, it's just possible that when we step on a fear-based belief whether it's for or against belief in anything, the reaction will always be annihilation. It takes alot of work to get out of fear-based belief. People just don't seem to want to take the time to check out the thought behind the thought behind the thought and so on. I long ago stopped prodding little hurt things that are trying to survive, whether they are on the same 'side' of belief in an issue I'm on or not. I'm not sarcastic here, I'm sincere.
I think people just speak from their own point of truth. But more to the point on Answers I wish people would review the Conduct and Guidelines, the structure for Answers forum, and then they will understand how to better phrase responses. Well, it's all a practice session to me anyway.
Were you REALLY expecting a calm reasonable and unconditionally loving response from people who ...play this trump card every round...?
...fingers poised... still lol... you know some of us soooo well..

I am a christian and have heard that many times here myself from other christians...go figure.. But on another note...if athiests really DONT care...Then why do u even care what they say to u...it's called CONVICTION. u feel this when u know u are doing wrong and feel ever so slightly, paranoid like someones picking on u. it is your sin. i know u think i and the others are crazy. but it is not really us that convict u dear. it is your own mortal sin. think about that for a while. and just for the record i dont know if u are going to heaven or hell only the father knows that....Peace

Some religious people go to extreme. I believe my path is the correct one and I believe it is my job to spread the word to those who will listen. But if someone doesn't want to listen then whats the point of shoving it down their throat. Its a waist of mine and their time. And if they do listen no reason to be rude or offensive if they don't agree.

Nobody can, nor should they ever, condemn another to hell.
Any 'Christian' who has been taught this has been misled.
We can only decide for ourselves where to spend eternity.
Telling others they will go there, is a sure way to do that.

When Jesus was here he preached alot more about hell than he did about heaven.

Friend: Hell is real! and if we fail to warn you then your blood will be on our hands
