To become a better person, you have to improve.

To become better and better, you have to continually improve.

Start with baby steps but remember the journey will last your entire life.

With love in Christ.

In Judaism, we recognize the bad part will always exist. This is called our evil inclination, the left side of our heart, Hasatan, and other things. It is that part of us that desires physical pleasures.

A lack of ability to be polite is a form of idolatry in our teachings. It has its roots in pride which has the root in thinking we are actually significant in any way.

As Jews we are taught the solution to any problem is to go to the Torah. If I could make a suggestion, I'd suggest to look at how Saul ended up so ticked at David. At each point in the story, ask yourself how this applies to you. Also, look to see how the outcomes are unpleasant.

This will convince your evil inclination that the outcome of anger is not pleasant. As the evil inclination only desires pleasure, it will begin to search for another path.

Then read about how Joseph had problems with his brothers and how he resolved this problem with unmerited kindness. Eventually they literally kissed and made up. This will show your evil inclination that kindness is the path to the pleasure it so desperately craves.

Once this is done, the evil inclination in the left side of the heart will be combined with the good inclination in the right side of the heart and will give you great strength to seek good and the pleasure that is derived from it.

Shalom,
Gershon

Most bad qualities people have can be used for good.
Case and point: Naive, or trusting?
That doesn't seem to fit your situation, but you know what I mean.
Try to utilize your bad qualities for good.
In other words, you improve upon your bad side if you can, and the parts that can't be improved upon you try to get rid of, or at least beat into submission.

well you have made the first step .. and that is to acknowledge that part of you
once acknowledged , you know it is there ... and can put that aspect of you away in the background
you dont have to get rid of it .. you cant get rid of it
there is a little b**** in all of us
but then we take control of how we want the world to see us
we think about our words before speaking them
at first this is difficult , because it has to be done consciously
I always think things through at least twice before speaking...
then eventually that becomes a more natural way for you
good luck xx

You not only have to get rid of the bad part, it has to die!

Try thinking about what the other person is thinking about when you are "face to face." And then try to do to them, what you would like them to do to you. It's not easy, I know. But you've got a lifetime to learn.

I know this answer sounds very trite but YES, either get rid of it entirely or at least improve it.

You must first be born again. Which does not happen by being sprinkled as a baby, but by humbling yourself as inner before God and asking Jesus to save you, trusting in his sinless shed blood for salvation.

Then be baptized under water in a Bible preaching church (not Catholic), and put on the new man, as Romans 6-8 shows. AND seek God for baptism of His Spirit, and fire.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

You just have to make a conscious effort, that's all. Personally, though, I like being a b****.
