He felt something with that "weathered, old woman" that he just did not feel with your friend. Life changes, love changes, and he probably was not happy anymore. This new woman made him happy. It is not always about looks girl. Maybe this "old woman" was great in bed too!

Sometimes beauty just isn't enough. I had a roommate that was beautiful to look at but was so opinionated and egotistical that after one date most guys would take off running.
Perhaps the "weathered" lady gives him the love and respect he's looking for in a woman, and makes him want to come home at night. Peace and security can go a long ways towards making a happy marriage. And too, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

For some guys, outward appearance isn't a big deal. Most guys are attracted to women who make them feel important and attractive.
Some guys pick trophy wives because they enjoy having a beautiful possession to show off to their friends. It's like having a nice piece of art in your office or home. It's pretty to look at and makes you happy because it's so pleasant.
Other guys are attracted to women who will listen to them, validate their ideas and opinions, and so on. This makes the man feel wanted, as if he's the most important man in the whole world. Let me ask you, if you found someone like that, would you be attracted to them? I think so.
Sometimes, ugly people are really good at sex. Maybe this older lady is some sort of bed-side cougar.
Who knows? The only way you'd get a definite answer of this situation is to actually ask the guy.

Well maybe your friend was treating her husband bad at home and was controling and demanding and the old lady doesn't and he found out how it feels to be loved and appreciated by a woman. And not nagged all day long. SO you need to tell you friend learn from this because if it happens again they will too. AND you shouldn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong, neither. That's where all the problems in a marriage start from friends sticking their noses where they don't belong.

men are very simple creatures somtimes all they have is sex in there lives if they dont have a lot of social activites ie if they work a lot or take to do with childminding in the family unit all they have is that passionate time with there wife whilst looks our important what shes like in bed is also very important ,the looks wear of when he gets bored this girl could be a beast but if she gives him what youre good looking freind does not he will stray.

It's not about looks -- you are sounding a bit shallow, don't you think? You see....what goes around comes around so be careful with your words - no matter where you use them --- time takes a toll on eveyrone on earth...that "weathered, old looking woman" may be like a saint -- you don't know....

It's not always about just looks and what other people might perceive as unattractive. . . someone else might see the attractiveness in the person. Never judge a book by its cover.

Either he's looking for a sugar momma to take care of him or he is very mature emotionally and your friend wasn't. Looks are only skin deep and he could see deeper.

I have been told guys don't cheat because of looks, they cheat or leave because it's "different". They just crave something different. Besides beauty is only skin deep.
