Just some suggestions, take those two colors and compare to shades in the same family.... Some times if you stay with the same colors but in a lighter shade than you will be warm and inviting rather than eye poping..... Red is a very good choice for a bedroom.
Another color category is fall colors such as golds, these colors would blend well with navy and red....Also check schemes for the paint, such as ragging and dry brushing where two colors are used, one base coat and one glazed over...You can pick up brochures at a paint department, I have three rooms in my house done this way and it always starts conversation....

A light pastel blue will be perfect.
Firstly, blue gives a relaxing and calming effect especially suitable for bedroom.
Secondly, blue will blend and match your curtain and etc.
Depending on the size of bedroom, you can even have a dark blue feature wall in your room (must be big enough); make sure not the wall with windows.
Then to improve the size visually, put a big mirror on the wall opposite the windows. this not only help the size visually but reflects light better and thus, a brighter room without additional lights.

I would suggest picking out an accent color from the chocolate bedspread or pillows - is it just gold color, nothing else? Then I might suggest a a sort of warm deep beige color on the walls. Brown, gold, black and gray are all neutrals, so if there are any other colors in the pillows or bedspread, it would go with it all, but if there are no other colors, I might even suggest a color, a serene, light green perhaps, as it would go with the earthy tones of chocolate and gold, but also would go just as well with the black/gray and the cherry wood would play nicely against it.

A light crisp blue would complement the red and navy. You know the sky, sea, and sunset... If you aren't looking for a nautical look make sure you use an unexpected pattern in your accesories, like floral on the pillow shams in the same color as the walls. If you are going for masculine use a plaid pattern in red, navy, and light blue. Nautical? Crisp white accents.

Something warm and beige. I'm thinking more of a browning khaki color. It will go well with the red and the navy blue.
Try Benjamin Moore's website. I would suggest the Maple Sugar color by Benjamin Moore. The Roasted Seasme seed is nice if you would like something a little brighter.

Use a neutral, like "muslin" by Sherwin Williams. The creamy color will look great with the red & navy, giving it a Norman Rockwell Americana look.

Go into a website called glidden.com and select their color chart etc. You can actually see what a room looks like after it's painted, it is really cool.
