i have a toyota rav4 with about 50k miles on it. every time i turn it on, it makes this sound... like... change rattling around in a soup can. I was just wondering if anyone has either experienced this or knows what it could be. the weather has been fluctuating and i know cold engines make some strange noises sometimes...

Trying to diagnose noises by what they sound like to someone else is just about impossible. Take it to a mechanic, let him listen to it and make a diagnosis. You'll be money ahead doing that rather then replacing a bunch of parts because someone on Y/A says It might be this or that.
