I'm thinking about painting my room?

and I'm painting it beige or tan. But I'm trying to think of an accent color, like you know the color that you put on one wall. I was thinking like a dark purple or purpleish? Would that look bad? any reccomendations?

I'd say a blue would win out over purple. It's generally a happier/prettier color.

1] BEFORE you paint, pick out the bedding, and window coverings -
2] use one of THOSE colors as accent wall, and a light for the other walls [ say lavender and purple flowers, with sage, and a beige background - do three walls beige, and the accent wall - head of bed - in purple or violet ]
3] add throw pillows in the pattern, or two of the colors for bed, chair, etc.
4] repeat some colors from the bedding in small accessories - lamps/shades, vase, ornaments, flowerpot, candles/holders
5] add artwork with the colors in it

I think it would look good when i first read it i was thinking purple then i got to where you said purple and i was like good color. ya i think purple would be good.
