Ali's fighting weight in his prime was 212 lbs. Mayweather's last fight with Hatton was 147 lbs. Since Ali outweighed Mayweather by at least 65 lbs. the fight could NEVER be made. From the Welterweight division where Mayweather fights to the Heavyweight division where Ali fought there would be too big a jump in divisions. Mayweather would have to jump past the Jr. Middleweight division, the Middleweight division, the Super-Middleweight division, the Light-Heavyweight division and the Cruiserweight division to challenge Ali. Not possible.

Your condition is quite difficult to achieve. The most that Mayweather can go would be to at least light heavyweight or super middeweight. Likewise, a heavyweight like Ali will have difficulty to go down to a lower weight category like Welterweight. either way would affect the fighting skills because of weight limitations. They would probably meet halfway at lightheavyweight, and if they do meet that , I would would place my bet on Ali.
Ali has more superior skills than Mayweather at his prime. Ali has various styles : can box, can be a slugger and has knockdown punch too. He has that boxing job when he run around his opponent that Mayweather cant do with the same skill level as Ali.

This is the dumbest question of all time. Not because Ali was so much more skilled, but because Mayweather is 5'8, no more than 150 pounds, and Ali was 6'3, 215 pounds. You have to be joking.
And hey Dark Elmo, if I go 50-0 against little girls and beat them all, does that make me better than Ali because I went undefeated and he didn't? No, it's about who you face, not what your record is. I hate explaining that to total noobs to a sport like you.

Ali would win. He has faster hand speed and is smarter. I am answering this question as if they r the same weight. But in their natural weights Ali would KO Mayweather in about 3 rds.

"I am a retard." -What falconizer's question really means.
I think that if this boy

gained 100 lbs. of pure muscle, grew his arms back, learned to box, became quicker than any person ever, and was able to tell the future and knew what punches were coming....while in his prime.....do you think he could beat Ali or Mayweather if they both lost weight and fought in the lightweight division?
My question is almost as dumb as yours.

ali would win, though why they call him the greatest is confusing to me the guy lost fights, you didnt see marciano losing or mayweather,or calzaghe so why is ali the best if you ask me the guy was a god damn traitor to his country and dosent deserve the praise he gets!
