Real, caused mostly by us. The data (below) is simply overwhelming.
"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”
Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command
Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

BDOG 1321 - Liberals like these?
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
"National Review (the most prestigious conservative magazine) published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"
"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”

We're in a warming period in our history, so global warming is happening.
The hoax is that humans have anything to do with this warming. There's no science to back up this assertion, but that doesn't stop the "believers" who do not want to debate the subject because they know their case is weak.
That's why on Yahoo Answers you'll see lots of quotes from politicians and religious people, because scientists do not believe in such nonsense.
The hoax is mostly perpetuated by a biased media and politicians who want more control over the people and their activities. Follow the money.

The study done by scientists out of new york louisiana and california contradicts popular belief that we are contributing to global warming through the increasing introduction of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. They say that warming is real, however it is caused by solar winds, and the ever-shifting magnetic fields of the earth, and that the pollution of the ozone layer does not contribute to it, only a negligible amount that will not cause any great harm. The liberal response to this REAL SCIENCE was "thats wrong" and "that contradicts the consensus."
the consensus was based on bias liberal scientists. It is, in fact not a consensus at all, as the scientists that contradict global warming are never given air time, because the media likes their imminent-doom stories. So, basically, when confronted with facts, liberals can only point and say thats not right, their only proof being the junk science their liberal "scientist" lackies are producing. Which is fake :)
Have a nice day, I hope I opened some eyes here today.
P.S. Who ya gonna believe, real scientists or some guy with an ARTS degree COUGH al gore COUGH.
EDIT: to the post above me, adam, your sources are discovery channel shows and news articles. discovery channel is liberal. biased. these are the same people, remember, who have a big special on something then leave you hanging with corny "is this true? we will probably never know," lines. SO. If these people never know anything conclusive about anything else, or just have their opinions, who is to say their word is fact? answer: them themselves.
To the news articles source, that is easily discounted as there are hundreds of news articles that screw up the facts every day, I am not surprised you happened upon one in a presumably liberal newspaper.

No, I don't believe it's a hoax. I just don't believe that it is caused by humans. I think it's a natural process that we are 'speeding' up because of our lifestyle. We can make changes in our lives to slow it down, but we can't stop it. The Earth has cycles of cooling and warming, and we're leaving one of those cooling stages and entering a warmer one.

Yes, I have come to the conclusion that it is not true. I provided a link for your perusal . At the bottom of the page are many, many more. All are testimony from serious, important scientists in the filed of climatology. They make a pretty good case against the conclusions and methodology of researchers.
Merry Christmas!

my opinion is there is not enough real evidence considering what the sun can do to the earth from time to time, but I do think that the chemicals and extra gasses we release into the environment are not a good thing, therefore they will not cause anything good. Most likely they will contribute to climate change, sooner or later.
