Are you sure it is the minister that is lonely and not the asker of the question? Being single is a perfect thing for a minister to be if God designed him/her that way.

When you feel lonely just stop and have some prayer time, start praying for people that you know are not saved. Also reading the book of Psalms for some Praise and Worship takes away loneliness, remember we really shouldn't feel lonely but sometimes we do, its called being human, but there is always something spiritual we can do to lift our spirits and get our minds back on track where they are supposed to be.

Hon, We do have families and lives. We have friends. We are busy a lot of the time.. We go fishing, take the kids to the zoo. visit our other family members, We paint, eat, sleep, have picnics, go to amusement parks. we go to base ball games. We go bowling. We have dinner with friends. We go shopping. We go to the movies. We do everything that everyone else does. We write, we read the same stuff you do. We watch TV. Some of that is rather shocking. {:-) We go for ice cream, we sit on the porch in the evening, we play tennis, we go hiking, we go camping, we fellowship with other members of the church as well as folks who don`t go to church..
We are natural humans, and do natural human stuff. We are not perfect. There are no perfect. God never asked for perfect.. We are just like you.. With God...
Peace & God bless from Texas. <><

The Lord actually approached me on the subject, I was 35 ,He wanted me to decide if I wish to remain solo or have a wife and family. He told me it was a decision I needed to make then ,not when I was older. He led me to my wife, we have 3 children, and a positively great relationship. I did not pursue a wife , God provided me with the right one. I am certain He is mindful of your desire. Just make sure your where he wants you , that is where you will meet your spouse. You don't need to pursue it , God still does the Home delivery at no extra charge.

Prayer.
The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us, and when the time is right someone will come along.
It is when we are anxious that WE jump ahead and foul things up...remember what Abraham "did" to help God along with His promise to him of having a son! When we act instead of waiting, trouble.

I am a pastor and married with 3 kids. I have friends and am no more lonely than anyone else. Just because God calls you to ministry it doesn't mean you're no longer human.
Actually ministry can keep you extemely busy socially.

My wife is here for me. And, you'd be surprised how "ministering to" fast becomes "being ministered to"...
