1) It's not up to any of us to judge the heart (thus, Jesus' teaching of "judge not, lest ye be judged".)
2) There is no "those" and "them". A person is either Baptized (made a Christian by God Himself, "born again, as Jesus taught, by "water and the spirit" or he/she is not. It's not a "gray area".) It is black and white.
The Nicene Creed is clear: "I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins"
Scripture is clear: "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God and Father of us all."

It's severe insecurity. They need so badly to "be right" that they are moved to cause conflicts, which they then set out "to win" at all costs. When they can't win a conflict with constructive conversations, they resort to attempting to belittle or insult others in an attempt to diminish their opponent and make themselves feel like the victor. In all fairness I have seen the exact same behavior in the Pagan community as well....it's not just a christian problem, it's a human problem.

Wow. Where do all these people get off saying you are stirring the pot? They really think you are some sort of evil genius, as if everyone who sees their hateful blather does not think this same thing! Sure, they want you to keep quiet. Bullies always do. Since when is it Christian to obey the status quo? Good for you, Pangel! Shake it up. The very people who seek to divide and damn, are the people who are angry at you for suggesting unity and compassion. At the end of the day it is love that remains the most threatening and controversial act. Acceptance follows a close second. How bizarre.

To be honest I think those people who yell "I AM A TRUE CHRISTIAN AND YOU ARE NOT!!" the most are not very Christian at all, who are they to tell others that HOW they believe is wrong?
If you have a personal relationship with God and spend most of your time working on that relationship (rather than say spend most of your time in the LGBT section bashing gay people 'in the name of Christianity', or bashing anyone who doesn't believe the same way you do) then you are a true Christian, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :)
Personally I just try to be the best person I can be every day, I always try to mind what I say and how I say it not to deliberately cause pain to anyone, and I'm always more than happy to share my beliefs with people should they want to know about them. I don't think that I am by any means perfect, but I try to be as perfect as I can be and hope that God knows that.

I don't think this is a hard concept to grasp. "Christianity" is many different religions. There's no such thing as "those" Christians and "them" Christians. There is no more connection between me and the local Southern Baptist Church than there is between me and the local Islamic Center.
As for numbers, look up a list of denominations. Pick a denomination (or allied group of denominations) and count the non-members. That's your answer.
PS - I have never claimed to have the largest numbers in the world. I can't possibly see how that would be relevant from an apologetics standpoint.

None of us can judge any other person as being a true Christian or not. Christ has already made the judgement. He has given us His word that not everyone who calls Him Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of God. The bible also tells us that whoever preaches a gospel different to the one we have heard, already stands condemned. We have been given a 'full gospel' and to say that any of it is untrue is to call Christ a liar because it is His word. We cannot pick out the bits we don't like neither can we add to it. Making Christ Lord is more than just calling Him that, but it is about allowing Him to BE Lord over our hearts, our minds, our spirits and our souls. He is not human and His thoughts are not our thoughts or His ways our ways and He judges with righteousness . To be a Christian is to believe in every aspect of His teaching, especially the teachings about being born again by His Spirit, as it is His Spirit who is here on earth with us until He comes again and it is impossible for us to serve Christ without the enabling of His Spirit. Jesus has given us the instructions on how to be a Christian and if we don't follow them His way then we are following a different gospel to His. Sadly, so many nominally Christian groups do not serve Him His way but take away from or add to His word. :)

good question...it's one that i have wondered about often.
i will never understand how some christians (not all) can justify attacking other christians.
how can anyone say that someone else is following the wrong path.
anyone who tries to follow the teachings of christ is a christian. catholic, mormon, jw, baptist, and so on...
christian = christ like - follower of christ.
that would be like me saying that people who don't follow the same goddess that i do aren't real pagans. how silly would that be?

You are a Christian
whatever' if you believe in Jesus
All roads lead to Rome.
Christians are not perfect, they will scratch and bite' sin
also dedicate and serve, be humiliated; be willing to give their lives like [Maximilian Colby] and other martyrs.
There will be bad Christians, just like any-other organisations
but you should not tar all of them with the same brush
And in their long history, you will get those who hate and maliciously point their finger at them.
isn't that so Pangel ??

You can be gay and Christian, but a person who has had his/her heart changed by God is not going to engage in a lifestyle that God calls sinful. Whether or not a person was "born that way" is beside the point. I was born a lustful, self-aggrandizing, deceitful, selfish, arrogant, spiteful, ego-centric, idolatrous, mean, thoughtless, sexually perverted, awful little man. Despite all of that God saved me and that is what makes me a Christian. As far as Catholics, JW's, Mormons etc... are concerned there are some central pieces of doctrine which cannot be simply overlooked as if they don't matter. The scripture makes it very clear what does and does not constitute a Christian, and Mormons & Jehovas Witnesess aren't it. I would stop short of saying that about Catholics because thier Christology is orthodox, but to just go on imagining that we all believe the same thing, and are therefore the same religion is just ignorance dressed up as tolerance.

Hon, You don`t become a brain surgeon, or a race car driver, or a Chef by reading one book. It takes time. We are on different steps of the journey.. We are not perfect. We will never be perfect. God doesn`t require perfection. He never asked for us to be perfect.
The road to God is not instant. There are many paths and we all take a different one. None is right, and none is wrong. What guides me down the path, may not guide you, at all.. Ask God to make it crystal clear for you.. He does hear you..
I wish you peace & God bless from Texas <><
