I think you need to seek counseling. Family counseling. People shouldn't accuse you of something because of the way you dress. I don't hate goths. I don't like labels. Goth people worship satan maybe your mother and relatives think you're worshipping him. I personally don't believe in God but I think you should talk to your mother about how you feel more and maybe she'll start to treat you better. Good luck.

I don't know you and so I am going to make some guesses here. Please don't take it to heart or let any of it hurt you're feelings, since I may be way off. These are just some ideas to consider:
Do you wear dark clothes and make-up?
Do you act or are you depressed?
Goths come across to many as depressed and depressing. Also that they don't like life and nature.
Your Mom may not talk to you b/c she thinks that she's giving you "space" or she may feel that you want to be left alone.
If you wear dark colors and seem all down, many times the people closest to you hope that it is a phase that will pass or you'll get out of quickly.
I told my daughter when she was 13 that if she went ahead and shaved her head, that she would loose all her friends. She did it anyway and her friends, all but one, drifted away. The last friend wasn't "cool" enough, so my daughter had no friends.
The point is, the way you present yourself affects those around you. That is your choice. If you don't like feeling ostracized, then change your look and your relationships will cahnge again. Don't blame others for not just accepting every choice you make. The choices are your own and you have to decide if each one is worth the results.

I doubt anyone hates you because you dress goth.
But maybe some people don't like you because you project an uncomfortable attitude.
Your mom may be worried about what other people think. Parents get off on bragging rights on their kids, like it or not. Believe me, I know how that works. My dad's best friend's eldest son was the star quarterback for the University football team -- so there was no way in the world I could ever EVER compete with that. I could see the disappointment in him, because he could never brag about me the way he must have heard his friend brag.
That may be part of what's going on. Don't know without knowing your mom.
But maybe you should make the first move. "Mom, I love you." Don't expect anything back from her.
And consider dressing in a fashion your mom will like when you're doing things that are important to her. Meet her halfway.
I know you feel goth is important to you right now. But if you show an effort to your mom, maybe she'll show an effort for you, too. Meet her halfway.

People are judgemental beings.
It doesn't matter how we dress, someone is going to judge us.
Many people are scared of 'goths', because of the way the media portrays them.
Ask yourself WHY you identify as a goth.
Have you explained to your family the reasons?
I know from experience what it can be like.
The majority of my clothes are black, and have been for quite some time.
Questions about being 'goth', 'emo', etc come up constantly, but it doesn't bother me.
I dress this way because I feel most comfortable wearing these things, not to be 'different' or to fit into a label.
My family and friends accept that this is how I am.
They know I'm not a terrifying monster, and couldn't care less about how I dress.
As long as you're happy and stay true to yourself, no one else's opinion matters.

Well, thats commen because, really how many Goth people do you see evey day. Me? None. So people can see about you new and diff and weird. You have to admit that if there is a new girl in school, you can trck them , help them but still not talk to them. Thats exactly how people feel about you. I personally dont care. Explain to your mom that Im old enough to choose what I want and its judging to do that. Its actually like rase. Over all people shouldn't care beacuse people tend to be....people (the same) So forget about it., Live your lfe...happy (P.s dont get in to much trouble!)

I don't hate you, so not everyone does. When I was your age I dressed in colorful flowing skirts and skimpy tops, did weird things with my hair, went barefoot or wore clogs, and spent a great deal of time smoking pot, dropping acid and listening to Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby Stills Nash and Young and a slew of others. We were very different from our parents and that was the point.
Do what you want, be who you want but realize that no one else has to agree or understand. Really, do you want everyone to think you are really cool and understand what you are communicating? No, and that's the point.

when you dress and behave outside the norm don't expect people to treat you the same as everyone else that "fits in and and or blends in" you know this, and you purposefully dress and behave the way you do EXPECTING to be treated differently. you WANT to stand out from the crowd.
those are the consequences for BEING DIFFERENT when you are in high school. this is not a shock to you you are fully aware of this...
my question to you is, knowing all this, why are you complaining about it? when you put in an application for a job do you expect the employer to look at you the same way he would "normal" people? trust me he will not!!! will you then complain that he will not employ you because you choose to dress the way you do???
