She has been evaluated by both a school diagnostician and her pediatrician. Diagnostician gave the ADHD diagnosis and Pediatrician gave the Asperger's diagnosis. We are waiting to get in to see a psychologist in Februaury. Just not to sure what to expect.

They dont always go and in hand in hand with each other. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 8, but I've never even hinted at Asperger's. I did get put on ton of different medication that didnt work, and to this day, I believe that you should not medicate a child with any form of ADD, unless they are a danger to other children or to themselves. If you just cut out as much added sugar and bleached flour from their diet as you can, your child should calm down considerably. I found that caffeine in a natural form (such as tea and coffee) helped me alot. I would drink tea every day wih breakfast and lunch, and even sometimes dinner. I would take it to school with me in a thermos. I have met others who give their children lots of sugar though, and they claim that it calms them right down. I have never tried this method though. I also recommend that you go to your local library or bookstore and read as many books on ADHD as possible. I know it helped my family alot.

The two can be confused. Actually ADHD mimics many disorders in childhood including anxiety and depression. Aspergers is a very distinct disorder that is quickly and easily recognizable by a professional. I would encourage you to speak with a therapist if she's having difficulties.

They cause a lot of the same behaviors, but they are completely different ailments. Aspergers is a form of Autism, whereas ADHD is a type of Hyperactivity.
Get all the professional help you can with this. If in fact your daughter is diagnosed with one of these, there are a ton of options regarding her treatment, and they work.

They can go together, but I don't know why. You should talk to the school psychologist to get some answers.
