How come guys have to be the ones to ask girls out, why not vice-versa?

Well, I have asked a guy out b4, and I was SO nervous that he would turn me down; He did. I think girls dont ask guys out more is cause they r nervous, and they just dont. I mean it is the usual guy to ask the girl out, but the rare case it is vice-versa it aint so good for the girl.

That's "women" (plural) and it's happening more and more. For a very long time it was considered inappropriate for the woman to be the agressor and of course, the person doing the asking risks rejection so women find it easier to sit back and let the guy put himself at risk.
It is changing though...maybe just not as fast as you'd like, but women do ask men out all the time (still not as frequently as men as women though).

I love how girls say "it's the man's job"
It's the 21st century. Things change.
The reasoning is because girls are more insecure and fear rejection moreso than men. They would rather the guy they like not talk to them, then to ask him out...

I keep hearing this lately. There is a famous athlete who said that if a woman wants him she will have to approach him.
I am an "old married lady" of 35 but good grief.
Women do almost everything to sustain a relationship. The emotional work.
Do we have to ask men out too?
How lazy can you get.

Some women are afraid of being shut down or thought of as slutty for asking a guy out. And some guys dont like women to ask them out because they feel it is to aggressive, so its kinda a catch 22 dont ya think.

Because most woman are afraid. I have asked out guys before, I asked out my fiance and thats how we met. Girls should do it more often, guys like chikcs with more confidence.

Because while SO MANY women are into the womens lib thing.......when it comes to that type of thing they get old fashioned.
Also, technically, the person who asks should be the person who pays.
Plus, women really like to be taken care of and they want a man who can and will take care of them.......being taken out is one way of being taken care of........he asks you, he picks you up, he takes you, he pays for you, he is taking care of you.

Why would a woman want a man she has to ask out? And when asking someone out that usually implies you're going to pay. Why would a woman want to go on a date were she has to pay? She would only view men that waited to be asked out as weak. Now of you're a weak man you might end up sitting at home alot. Good Luck

:P cuz girls think that asking a guy out is "sooooo unpopular". Most girls care about their "popularity" and looking "good". Some girls, like me and my friend, don't care who asks out who, as long as both people are happy.

Because its been that way forever, and the man is suposed to be polite, adn not burden the woman, don't you think we have enough problems to deal with. And every woman I know usualy ask the man out.
