if you have only a little pain after one week you are way ahead of the pack. Most have post surgical pain for up to a month. As for the "stuff" covering the incisions, leave them on for a minimum of ten days.

I had my gallbladder removed about 2 years ago and I had slight pain for about 4 weeks after, especially when bending over to pick something up..which you are NOT supposed to do for 2-3 weeks..but I had a 6 week old baby at the time, so I had no choice. so this is normal..but pain should not be excruciating at any time..that's not normal. The stuff they cover the incisions with comes off on it's own after a week to ten days(it will lose stickiness) do not remove on your own. i assume you will have a follow up with your surgeon shortly and they might remove it..but mine did not I was instrycted tro let it fall off. I hope this heps you!

The pain wasn't bad for me. It really depends on your own pain threshold. It also depends on the type of surgery. Are they taking out your gallbadder? My gallbladder was removed with the micro surgery method. When I has my appendix removed, the pain was much worse. Good luck & have a speedy recovery.

Leave them on seven to ten days, depending on your doctors instructions. If you didnt get any about your bandages then assume they are supposed to come off on your follow up visit, which should be seven to ten days after your surgery. Ps. you only need to leave the tape on, any band-aids covering the tape itself can come off. Also try not to soap the taped areas if you shower or clean up since they may come off.
