What was the TV show that was similar to Power Rangers?

I used to watch this show in the mid-90s. If I recall correctly it was very similar to the power rangers in that they were high school students who morphed into something (bugs maybe..i can't remember) and their leader was what i remember as looking like a giant brain. Can somebody PLEASE help me?? THANKS!

That is "Tatooed Teenage Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills". The giant brain was named Nimbar :)

The 80's cartoon that was similar to Power Rangers was called Voltron. Voltron was based on a similar Japanese cartoon called GoLion and Dairruger. It was my favorite cartoon when I was growing up. For pictures you can check out the links below.

I think you are referring to a show called Beetle Borgs. On some of my pre recorded tapes that I have of the old Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it shows that on it.
