Quite frankly, I think President Bush should have shut out the press when such traitors as michael moore, cindy sheehan, and the liberal media alike started their shameful attack on our Country and the sitting President in a time of war. It's disgraceful and you do not deserve AIR let alone air time!

Don't get me wrong I respect and admire your love for our freedoms, and I feel the same way as you about freedom of speech.
I just think the soldiers should be pardoned, along with the border patrol agents who were all protecting this land we love.

Beyond any doubt the President made a huge mistake allowing embedded reporters with the troops. They should have been banned from the combat zones completely and received nothing but official briefings each day.
And if they wandered into a fire fight they should have been treated like any other civilian in the area.
Sorry but I am upset at the media today, freedom of speech is fantastic, but that does not include freedom to report National Secrets.

Freedom of the Press should only go so far.
If you go by the notion that the Press has the right to report anything they want, then they should be able to report the exact location and battle plans of US forces while in combat (Thanks Geraldo Rivera).
Face it, and forgive me for saying this but, there are some things that the American people, and any other prying eyes, are better off not having knowledge of.
*EDIT*
I'll put it this way.
Say your friend finds out a secret about you, something you dont want anyone to know, for whatever reason. That friend turns around and tells as many people as they possibly can, then says, "Its okay. Its in the constitution."
Point being, just because you have the freedom, doesnt mean it should be used at all times under all circumstances.

I'm a conservative. I hate the likes and rhetoric of Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, et al., but in this country we have a little thing called free speech. The government is to have no control over the words of individuals or organizations except in cases of direct, purposeful slander (or libel), or threats to persons or property.
The rhetoric of Michael Moore and those like him is shameful, but it is Constitutionally protected. Therefore, as much as we may hate it, President Bush has no authority whatsoever to stop it (no more than congress has authority to impose the "fairness doctrine").

Don't you mean how many months after Clinton was offered Bin Lauden and turned it down were we attacked in New Your, and Washington? The wars were already going on when Obama took office if it happened now he would do nothing.

he should have balck out the information that we cracked their internal communication links because we got valuable information from that for a couple days...until the media reported it in which the terrorist shut down their communication links and investigated who is a spy in their organization
that information that the media linked put the U.S. military a couple years behind where they could be right now

I agree, but if this were to actually happen their would be cases of the President not allowing others Freedom of Speech (1st Amendment). Although, some movies can go far enough to be either a..
Threat to National Security, threat to any military operation, or Threat to any World Leader.. Things like that, you know where I am coming from?
Although, it most likely wont happen, the President will be impeached if he does that. You know?

The biggest threat to national security is the loss of freedom and freedom of speech is one. Your way of thinking would have us all conform and become mindless drones. Biggest shame is people like your thinking it is correct to censure the press.

I agree with you 100%. I was in the military for seven years and if I had to deal with what these CNN reporters are saying While I was fighting in Iraq I'd be in the brig for shooting them. Also the government does not control the media. The media has a political agenda and it's far left. Any one who thinks different must watch the news from a nuetral standpoint.
