Baptism is a public declaration of your decision to live for God. There is nothing in baptism that offers remission of sin. That work was completed by Christ's atoning sacrifice on the Cross. Instead of reading an encyclopedia written by men my friend, try reading the Bible, breathed by the Lamb of God. You will find all of your answers there.

I believe that baptism is a way of showing the world and God that you believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I also believe that sin is between you and God and no one else really needs to be involved with it other than for conscience clarifying reasons. I also don't think babies should be baptized because a baby can't make the choice to follow God.

Are you saying that Baptism absolves you of all sin even afterwards? Baptism is a remission it allows entry into the kingdom of heaven however we are still indebt when is comes to our sin, it's not a free ticket just and step in the process of reconcillation with God. That's why "works" (justification) is necessary.

I am baptist. I don't know about all that Catholic stuff. What I do know is that baptism is an outward expression of your faith in Jesus Christ. It does not get you to heaven. Only accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior can do that. Oh and Jesus died for my sins so I don't have to do penance, just ask Jesus for forgiveness.
God bless

No I disagree, baptism is just a symbol of your faith in God. Stepping into a pool of water or having water splashed on your forehead doesn't save you from sin, only God can do that.
