Well I have no close family to speak of, and we never celebrated when I was a child.
I make my dog a T-bone, I make a special dinner of whatever I want...I set out a plate for my son, and those who have passed before me.
I spend the day volunteering at the shelter for battered women and children.
In the evening I work.
Those are the only traditions that I have for now...
Yours sound lovely...I wish I were there to help you cook breakfast sweetie!

CHRISTMAS WEENIES!!!
This is a mandatory, non-negotiable part of our Christmas tradition. It simply isn't Christmas without Christmas weenies.
Christmas weenies are those little mini sausages ("smokies", I guess they're called) cooked in sweet and sour or BBQ sauce (with a little whiskey, if you're so inclined) and eaten during Christmas Eve munchie-time. Christmas Eve munchie-time is when we would go to my grandparents' house and have -- DUH -- munchies before opening gifts. Traditional Christmas Eve munchies include eggnog (with Seagram's 7 or 7-Up, depending on your taste), Ruffles Potato Chips (Lays don't cut it on Christmas Eve), a massive variety of cookies, a veggie tray, and of course...Christmas weenies.
It simply isn't Christmas without Christmas weenies.

Opening one present on Christmas Eve
Nothing much else. Christmas isn't a big holiday with my family.

My mother always makes a Jesus birthday cake, complete with candles, and we have to sing Silent Night or something like that instead of Happy Birthday after we light the candles.
It's really...I love my mother dearly and I respect her faith, but it really makes me dread Christmas.

I'm trying to get my family to start new ones like instead of exchanging gifts with each other, giving instead to those who have nothing.

Going to "Christmas lane" ... I swear I'm going to email you the pics I took to share with your boys. Other than that my family has no traditions.
