I saw a post from a wiccan who said "Xians have 2 dieties; God and Satan". That made me think for a second because it made sense. I personaly disagree because even though people worship satan, beezlebub, etc. (satanists) he is still a creation. He is not the archenemy of God, he is the archenemy of michael and gabriel who in the heiarchy are at equal lvls with eachother. This should not be a widely discussed topic so sorry about that but I just wanted to know...
what are your thoughts on this? Do you Christians think Satan is a diety?

Acknowleding Satan as a deity is contrary to all Christian, Jewish, and Islamic theology. There is one god. Satan is a creation, distinctly less than god. Equating him to an angel as far as hierarchies are concerned I think is accurate.

Those who worship an actual being called Satan and who understand him as a god are not following a Christian view of Satan. (There are plenty of other differences between the Satanic Satan and the Christian Satan besides god/no god status....Like he's not a being bent on destroying the world and spreading evil and destruction and misery. It's a very different figure altogether.)

I sure hope the Wiccan that posted that wasn't also complaining about people giving bad information about his/her religion.

Satan would LIKE to be a deity. He set himself up in the place of God. He wants people to treat him like a god and worship him. But Christians don't believe that he is a deity. Satan is the corrupt Lucifer, or angel of light. But an angel is a created being, not a deity.

Christians worship the triune One God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don't see satan mentioned anywhere in there!

First, many Christians don't believe in Satan as a personal being.

Second, the traditional Christian idea of Satan is a limited being with some supernatural powers. He certainly fits the title of "theos," but so do human beings and angels.

Third, the idea of Satan in Pentecostal and some Evangelical circles certainly qualifies as a deity, in every sense of the word.

Not according to Christian theology. Satan was an angel...a chief angel who fell from grace. He rebelled against God and took 1/3 of the host of heaven with him. Now...what does this say about God when 1/3 of it's citizens would chose to be cast out rather than be subject to his rule? Makes you wonder...

Absolutely positively
NOT!!!
Satan is a created being, God's junk yard dog,
he is not all powerful, not all knowing, and can only be in one place at a time, just like you and me only a spirit and never an organic being.
But certainly not God.
There is only one God, a single infinite being eternally co-existent in three persons, The Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Satan is not a deity for Christians.
Satan was originally Lucifer, one of the created angelic beings.
God in Christianity was not "created."
Lucifer was, therefore he is not deity.

Do not be confused by Mormon Theology which equates Christ and Lucifer as spiritual brothers. That is a false teaching, unsupported by scriptures.

No created being can claim to be a deity whether they are worshiped or not. Satan is a fallen angel. Nothing more.

No Satan is not a deity. Satan is a fallen angel who's destiny is the lake of eternal fire. He knows his time is short so he seeks to deceive and kill and destroy. Jesus calls him the father of lies, for he has been a liar since the beginning. (Re read Genesis: Garden of Eden temptation).

Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown contained in the city and the persons not be alarmed and afraid? Shall misfortune or evil ensue and the Lord has not brought about it? God is growing to be (not 'creatED') guy in his image. God knows stable and evil. guy could desire to check it. that's the reason he became meant to consume of the tree of the certainty of stable and evil. If he did not he does not study stable, the two. devil is doing the interest he became created for, tempting guy to do evil and in doing so, making guy comprehend that without God, guy is powerless to withstand. loose will is an oxymoron. we've brought about options, not loose will. God created the regulation of reason and result. God is sovereign. loose will negates that fact.
