I think some parents should and some shouldn't. It varies situation to situation. Plus kids need to learn a lesson.

Parents that don't pay any attention to there kids should be held responsible for there children's actions. Where as parents that are close to there kids and try to discipline them and instill good values in them shouldn't be punished for there kids mistakes.

Its kinda like its the parents responsibility if the kid is still between 5-10, come on they don't know any better. but once a kid reaches about 11 its time to trust them to make the right decisions. All I know is that teens can go to juvy if they convict serious crimes. Also if the parent is with the kid and the kid does something, but the parent makes no attempt to stop his/her child, it is then resonable to question the parent.

well I mean they only should if the parents had some interaction in the doing of their child's crime. But if they taught their kids right from wrong etc.. then no they should not be convicted because they had nothing to do with it. It could have been some kids their children were hanging out with. So absolubtly not!

The parents are responsible to some degree for the actions of their pre-adult children, therefore they should be held accountable to some degree for them. They should not be held completely responsible for the crimes of those children, though, and the children need to bear the responsibility and accountability for their part in it. Given this, then with rights come responsibility and with responsibility should come rights, so the parents should not be reasonably restrained from disciplining their children to prevent those children from committing crimes. If the parents will be held responsible to some degree for their children's actions, then they should have the right to a reasonable degree to control those actions.

No of course parent shouldn't be convicted, unless they are solely responsible. Parent's can't control their children at all times of the day - it's impossible. Kids make mistakes, and learn from them. You can't punish parents for their children's mistake - it's not fair. The only way parents should be able to be convicted would be if neglect led to the crime - i guess that would be more not....but still. Unless there are clear signs of neglect, a parent should not be held responsible.

Everyone at some point are responsible for their own actions. A parent cannot physically prevent his or her child from going out and commiting a crime. No matter how a parent tries to raise their kids right, the kids have minds of their own and will make their own desicions. It's not ALWAYS the parents fault.

Sometimes no matter what a parent does they can't control their children. Depends on the crime, although i do believe sometimes you can't stop children. I used to work in the juvenile division at my local police department and some of those parents tried everythng they could, others didn't. it's all if the parent tries to prevent it or not

undecided the place you acquire that hardship-unfastened so i will evaluate it a SWAG. Molestation is a lot distinctive then abuse or ignore different then all of them scar the youngsters. i think of sterilization is an severe that is seen in maximum worse case subject concerns. CPS is crushed with cases and in noway are they perfect. They make blunders too, some that have led to infants being taken from loving and worrying families. we will not supply up this from happening no mater how severer the punishment. There are human beings obtainable which will nonetheless molest, abuse, or ignore human beings form new child to senior. people who're caught would be punished via the regulation. people who are not getting caught will nonetheless be judged interior the tip.

As long as government pokes their nose into the business of a family, parents shouldn't be convicted. However, they should be held responsible for the poor upbringing.

Personally, I think government needs to stay out of families.

no, not unless they for example give their child medication or what not to make them in such a state where they feel they need to act out and commit such a crime

i personally believe that yes, sometime the child can learn from the parent and make the same mistakes as they do, but for the most part when children get in trouble they use that excuse more often than not
