I would guess that the punchline is that the cat was using a spade.

That happens a lot, with outside cats. I've got a story that might interest the readers......I used to have a Siamese male cat that went to a cabin in the Intracoastal Waterway with us. The cabin had to be reached by boat, only! Well, one night, the cat needed to "go potty", but no one was awake to let him outside, so...........the next morning we found #2 in his FOOD BOWL, and no wet spots on the floor! He didn't have a litter box, and no way to get outside to the sand, so he "made do" with what he had available. I've never heard of a cat being smart enough to do something like that...........has anyone?

Have you never seen a cat before? They often dig in the litterbox and then cover up their feces, just like they do outside.

Yes cats are very clean animals, they clean themselves, not like dogs, which will sniff their own and any other dogs nether regions, also their own crap and that of other dogs, even when it's still steaming. THEN they'll lick your face and dribble all over you. They run about making a noise for the sake of it, then get all excited and try to hump your leg. You've guessed, it I don't like dogs, give me a cat any day

Yes in the summer time my cats do that all the time, it's natures way of trying to be more clean, Cats in the litterbox when done will cover it up. cats are always licking thems selves clean too. they are just trying to be polite. for real though.

What? Have you never seen cats before? That is what they do. They are cleaner than dogs, they do not want it out in the open.

Cats burry their crap thats what they always do. Its a natural instinct that keeps them from being sensed by preditors and also it marks the cats territory.

Are you sure it was a cat? It could have been a badger or even Gypsies have been known to have that kind of behavior.

Hehe..
yep that is one of their funny but good traits.
Just think of it as them saying sorry for digging your beautful lawn up. They feel that they must *help* and fix it and make it nice again.
Just dont step in it or your cat will hate you for messing up his/her construction site :)
Aww
