cut,paste and blend in photoshop?

I had 2 images-I cut out a part of one and placed it onto the second (layer 1 cut and paste to background.) Then used opacity to make more transparant.

But the background of the cut out needs to be blended into the original image while the person from the cut out still remains in regular color. How do I manipulate and blend from a copy and paste?

Turn on the layer that you pasted to, click the eraser, choose a fuzzy brush, and set it's opacity to about 10. Now gently erase the edges of the pasted object.

Or, when you do your cut, set the "feather" control to somewhere around 2 to 4 pixels.
