I was instructed to wear rubberbands on my braces about 3 weeks ago at my last appt. and all the people I talked to said that there was no point in wearing them. Well needless to say I didn't wear them (like heck i was going to have headaches and numb teeth for a month) and I have one more week to my next orthrodontist appt. and my friends said that I should be fine if I put them on now and wear them straight through to the next appt. will this work if I start wearing them now?

So you trust other people more than your orthodontist? You were given rubber bands for a reason. Not everyone receives the same treatment. Some people are given rubber bands and some are not. If they are given to you, it is because they are needed. They are used to align the top and bottom teeth. Put them on now and fess up to the orthodontist about not wearing them.

Why are you going through braces if you are not doing everything the ortho advises. If you don't wear your rubber bands ..your teeth won't move and you'll be in braces much longer than you need to be. Hope that helps. I don't mean to be harsh..

i got braces and have to wear rubberbands like half the time i got em its important to put em on as soon as you get them so youll get used to it cus if you start wearing em like 2 weeks later your mouths gonn a hurt a lot

Tell your Parents that you have NO INTENTION of doing what you are told, so they can save their money.
Putting them on now is better than not at all. The more you do not do what your told, THE LONGER THE CORRECTION WILL TAKE.
My daughter who did what she was told and it took 18 months.
Her Brother who NEVER did what he was told, TOOK 6 YEARS.
