Keep involved with the doctors and try to get more information. This could be any number of things, and the dr will be the best information you can get. He is the one viewing the test results. Be there for your dad if you can, offer to go to dr visits with him etc. If it ends up being cancer you will get tons of information on options. Ask all the questions you can. Medicine has come a long way in the last 10 years. Stay strong.

why do you suppose they called it a "growth"? They call it that because they don't know what it is, ok? It will require a biopsy to find out what it is. Until the biopsy results are back, no one can tell you what it is, and then maybe the doctors can. It is not necessarily cancer, could be just a benign tissue growth, don't put the cart before the horse, wait for a biopsy.

It mite be, then again it could be a miss growth of the gland itself, let the doctors do their job; love and support the rest of the family and pop too! It mite be a big nothing: I had one years ago.

no body on here can tell you in any way. Might be. Might not.
Withour biopsies, CT/PET scans, blood work etc, nobody can advise you. Odds are its not. Only your Dr. will be able to let you know for sure.

It could be a pseudocyst - does your dad have history of pancreatitis? Any mass could possibly be cancerous - your doctor will have to do more studies, maybe a biopsy, to find out.
