I was baptised in a catholic little church and I'm a pagan.
Just wondering. Whether anyone believes if baptism has any effect on choice of religion.

Iheatdogs... with all due respect; I'm baptised and don't have any commitment to that god whatsoever.

For that other one; again: I'm baptised and definitely not a christian. So not all baptised are christian. And not all christians are baptised, as some have mentioned before...

NO.
Baptism is just a way to make you realize that you are supposed to follow a certain path to reach God.
Nothing on earth can make a person better other than his/her own heart. If the heart is pure, you automatically became a better person - irrespective of the religion.
Probably centuries ago religion was a big thing but today the world has matured ( almost the whole world !) and has realized that religion is not important, God is.
I believe there is no such thing as a better christian or a better islamic and on. Its only a better 'human'.
Only the heart and its faith can change a man. Baptism and similar such things are just actions done by people assuming that it will change them, make them God fearing, take them closer to God and on.
:)

being baptised does not make you a better christian but it does matter of which religion you get baptized. Everything thats glitter aint Gold saying. Everything that claims the word of God dont have to be a true religion. Read the New testament Gospel of the Holy Bible and you will be able to tell the real from the fake.

Well, the only way to be a Christian is to be baptised, so I am not quite sure of your question. All Christians are baptised and all baptised are Christians, (although some are excommunicated, but Christians none-the-less.)
I am trying to think of other ways of answering this, but I'm having some trouble with the wording...

Baptism is not about making you a better Christian, it is about making you a Christian.
Galatians 3:27 As many of you who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ
Baptism is only effective when it is done when someone understands and believes (Mark 16:16)

catholic/ baptism is the first sacrament, making you a member of christ and incorporated with the church, when you were baptised it was for the remission of all past sin and all punishment due for sin. after being baptised a person can sin hence, confession and absolution. you may think yourself pagan but you were baptised, making you a member.

baptism of a believer is a outward representation of the inward work God has done! its not a magical action one can do to receive salvation, thats is simply a false teaching....sprinkling on an infant doesnt save them, but the heart of a person who has been changed by the heart of God and desires to be baptised shows that God has truly changed them!

Baptism is renouncing Satin & his works to accept the graces of Jesus Christ (eternal life & salvation). If after u'r baptised and you wanna reject Jesus u can ... Free Will ... and Jesus will step aside 'cause he's a gentalman. It also means that if u change u'r mind later, and call, u'll get him ... but u still have to re-trace the steps u denied graces provided to u.

The Biblical idea of baptism is that it's something people do once they've believed, to signify their new beliefs, and to tell other people about them. It doesn't make you any better as a Christian, and it certainly doesn't make you a Christian if you don't believe in Jesus.

I believe that being baptized for the remission of my sins adds me to the Church of Christ, where I have every chance of being saved when the end comes.

I never understood the point of baptism. I was raised Quaker, so I was never baptized, and I was taught that being good is enough.
