i have a part Siamese cat, and he does the same thing. i call it the strut almost like he is better than all other cats...the vet never said that there was anything wrong when i took him so i think that it is just how they walk

First of all, there is nothing normal about a siamese cat. They are the weirdest of the cats. I have never met a siamese that did not seem to be crazy in one way or another. I see this as a good thing about them though.

Is the strut causing problems? Can the cat get around ok? Does there seem to be pain? Can the cat jump up on tables and things like that ok? Unless the cat is having problems getting around, I would not be worried. Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse then take the cat to the vet.

If his back legs are longer than his front, that's probably why his stride looks so strange. Its nothing to be concerned about, its just the way he was made. He might start having hip problems associated with this later in life, but its not a definate. Look for a limp, or difficulty jumping or running. If you see these signs, time to see a vet.

Could you explain bob type stride?

If its just that he seems to bob up and down when he moves, then Im sure hes fine, not all cats walk the same. BUT, if he seems to be doing it with a specific leg, he could be limping and have something wrong with him.

Maybe cats are just like people...they all have different walks. But if it seems too abnormal then you should definitely get that checked out.

don't worry

unless he is favouring one leg more than the other that's his normal gait

relax!
