i just wanna know i am making a good decision by getting a 40gb instead of the 60gb since the 60gb stopped being produced =[ ,i understand that the 40gb cant play ps2 and ps1 games but my main concern is the graphics i.e will they look as good as the 60gb graphics, and will the performance of the 40gb be bad compared to the 60gb's performance.
see i may buy a 60gb ps3 off ebay or amazon.

The graphics (and graphics card) is the same either way, size of hard drive has no impact on that. Performance is also the same, size of hard drive does not impact RPM's, which is the way that hard drive speed is measured. You just wont have as much storage space for downloads and saves.

All of the PS3's has the same graphics and are built just the same. Many people may think that the cheaper PS3 will be lesser in quality and performance, but that's not the case. Usually when you buy electronics the more expensive model will give you better performance and everything else, but the PS3's are all the same except for different features.

The 40GB PS3 is a good choice to go with. The only thing that you wont have is 2 extra USB ports and the flash card slots and that's not really that important.

the 40gb version is not ps2 compatible, does not have super audio cd compatibilty, does not have any flash card readers, and has only 2 usb ports.

the 60 gb has all those things plus 2 more usb ports
