Who does? I think you would have to define that first then look for motive.

His holiness and Nobel Prize winner, the Dalai Lama?
Well, the European Pope has badmouthed the Dalai Lama and forbids him from speaking again in European Catholic Churches in New York City, New York.
The reason: The European Pope opposes all western democracies, the UN, and the UN human rights commission.

I believe its ignorance and fear ...
It's funny because his belief on other religions is a live and let live philosophy, as long as the road leads to love and compassion...
Can all other religions say the same?
EDIT- Irish gal you are feeding into the ignorance argument....People do not worship or pray to the Dali Lama... he is the reincarnation of Buddha, and Buddha is not worshiped...only honored ...

Give people enough time and they will find a problem with anyone you put in front of them. We are a critical species.

same reason some have a problem with my hugs ...
I will tell you what I have been told by quite a few people on here
Satan comes as an angel of light
he will be the bringer of peace
people will love him
he will unite people
anyone doing this work , anyone uniting people , anyone who isnt Christian but tries to spread love
must be working for Satan
the Dalai Lama is one of these people
edit
Mr X I think you misunderstand me
I love the Dalai Lama and his teachings
I was explaining why people think the way they do about people who spread love
I have been called Satan due to my love for others

irish girl is ridiculous. if jesus was here, he's slap you in the face.
only someone so twisted and hateful as to think they have a monopoly on the truth could have a problem with him. saying that he's doing the work of satan is as stupid as you can get. learn to think, people! you are such robots.
objecting to him because he's too peaceful and that won't work is an interesting perspective. i hope it's not true.
and defending the chinese government is absurd. they are commiting genocide in tibet! they are shipping in ethnic Han chinese, so that the tibetans are now a minority in their own land. and the chinese have tortured and killed thousands of monks and nuns who were doing nothing but being buddhist. it's like defending a rapist for showing a woman a good time!
anna, you too are talking out of your @ss. what money? he lives as a monk, a humble lifestyle. why do you answer when you clearly don't know a thing about the subject?

I have no idea. I heard him speak in Toronto about the path to happiness, and he was amazing! He spoke about how there is worth in every religion, about how we should love one another, and tolerate each other's difference. The man is incredible.
You don't have to be Buddhist or believe he is holy to accept his peaceful ideas.
