I've been taking creatinine and protein shakes for the last 3 months; I work out 5 days a week and do cardio at least 3 times a week, and that's the time the triglycerides went up from 172 in July 07 to 332 in Nov 07. I eat very healthy and do a lot of exercise and cardio; I'm very muscular so I'm a big guy for my height but I only have 20% fat weight. Is this increase in triglycerides normal in such a short period of time? and is there a study showing that creatinine and protein suplements can affect the liver producing more triglycerides; my kidney doctor ckeched the kidney functions and glucose and all that hasn't been affected at all. Please advice.

why are you getting so much blood work done, that's highly unusually for a "healthy" person . and the fact that you have a kidney doctor would indicate some sort of pre-exisiting health condition or concerns.

neither creatine or whey cause an increase in triglyceride levels, both actually cause a decrease in them. there must be some other changes to your diet that you made. typically whey and creatine are used during a bulking phase of training so if you have increased your caloric intake this would obviously effect your triglyceride levels. also 20% body fat is a lot, 25% is considered obese for a male. you need to get that number down to a healthy level of about 14%. the level of body fat is a direct indicator of insulin sensitivity (IS). when IS is high the body is lean, as IS decreases the body fat % gets higher and higher. adipose tissue (fat) is also a major conversion site of testosterone to estrogens. so the higher the level of body fat the more test gets converted to estrogens which in turn leads to increased body fat levels.
