Question

The doctor goes home and tells his wife about their new inpatient in the hospital.
his wife says shocked :" Oh my god, and what do you do with him?"
" Well, in the morning we give him a toast, for lunch he gets an omelet and for dinner he gets a pizza."
His wife looks puzzled and says :" And that will heal him???"
"No" answers the doctor to his wife, " but this is the only food we can shuffle through unter the closed door."

I didn`t laugh.
The joke is basically about food that fits under a door and that this horrible person is on the other side.
Not using aids as a disease would be classier. You don`t catch aids by being in a room with someone and unlike the `80s people should know that now. Any disease that isn`t killing millions of people really, slightly classier. Instead of choosing illnesses that people actually suffer from (no better way to ruin a joke is to tell a joke about cancer to someone who has lost family to cancer) random symptoms that are unpleasant works. Milk it, oozing sores, bad breath, from someone who keeps on hugging the staff is a nice start, make it worse.
Toast, omelette and pizza is a weird selection of food. Pizza for breakfast, pizza for lunch pizza for dinner, is better. Funny word, weird decision and repeating stuff is always better than not repeating stuff. In fact the whole joke would be better with three patients with a variety of symptoms who all get the same three pizza a day diets. That way you have time to get puzzled and you don`t think the patient just likes toast omelettes and pizza and the doctors are with holding meds just because they can. Then the wife can ask 'does that help them?' everyone is on board and not offended.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks.
