how do i catch his attention?

I like this guy but hes not too talkative.
we don't have the same group of friends, so i don't see him anywhere besides school. I want to catch his attention, but the only opportunity i have is at school. When I pass him in the hallways I say hi and he'll say hi back. A few times he has walked up to me after me saying hi to him and have talked to me but he hasn't done it lately. He has said that he thinks i'm hot to my friend, but i want to catch his attention so that he will be interested in me if thats possible, and talk to me more often. Please don't tell me to dress slutty or something like that because i don't want to do that lol.

first you should tell your friend to scoop him out, because if he said something to you friend then, it shouldnt be a problem if you something.....guys dont have a problem if girls approach them...so just talk to them prefereable when they arent with as many friends

write him a note. but just write about normal stuff, like school is boring, and stuff, dont tell him you like him yet. i used to do it all the time in highschool. guys are tottally cool with notes. ask him to write back then like the third note tell him to call you.
