Explain that double standard to me oh wise vegetarians...................... Death is clearly a part of life; there is no lifeform on earth that does not benefit off of the process of death. Many fungi live off of the flesh off dead carcasses. Animals kill their prey in the wild to survive; do you suggest they go on vegetarian diets? We, as humans, are doing what comes naturally to us.
Also, eating meat greatly expanded the brain size of homosapiens; the added protein gave us extra strength and intelligence. If you look at our teeth, they are clearly omnivorous. Noticed how sharp our back fangs are? Is it not that way for a reason?

Everything lives by killing something else. Only bacteria are able to live on non-living minerals, and even those are a small minority.

The difference is in where you draw the line. You're not asking me why it would be "wrong" to eat an animal, you're asking me to prove it would be wrong for you to. That I can't do, only you know your heart. I could not look my dog in the eye and kill it and eat it. I realized that I could not look any animal in the eye and plunge a knife into it to consume it's flesh. Vegetarianism isn't right. It's right for me.

We don't kill animals as other animals do. We aren't out in the wild, killing an animal, are we? How many carniverous humans do you think kill their own meat?

American Indians use all parts, even bones and ligament of the wild animals they kill, and they are greatful to the animal for it's flesh. The animals were wild before, and lived a natural life. They do not kill young animals, because that would be wrong.

Perhaps if we as humans followed their ways for eating animals it would not be immoral. But we don't, do we? We grow animals in factories, and they didn't have any type of normal life first. They are raised only for our consumption. They are killed in stressful, painful ways. They are not thanked.

Also, because we eat so much meat in an unnatural fashion, we are depleting our grain supplies feeding these animals. The pesticides used to grow the animal's food pollutes the Earth. Animals in the wild don't raise their own animals for food, hurting the Earth along the way.

That is why our ways of animal consumption are wrong.

I don't think that eating meat is wrong per se, however it is. . . 1) Less healthy. Our bodies do not metabolize meat as efficencly as other foods. It also does not give us the same nutritional value. 2) Inefficient The entire third world could be fed on the grain that goes to feed cattle that produce beef for the US and Western Europe. Therefore if too many people eat too much meat other people will starve. If you really want to know the mental beneifits of a carnivorious diet, ask a victim of Mad Cow disease.

And notice how dull our canines are? If we were meant to rip and tear at flesh, they'd be longer, like a dogs or a cats.

We are not intended to eat food we cannot chase down and kill with our own two hands. Chickens, fish, small game, yes, but a cow? A pig? How does a human kill a pig with their teeth and nails? We don't, our bodies weren't made for it.

I stopped eating beef over 10 years ago and have never once looked back. My stomach problems disappeared within one month; I have a higher metabolism now and am most certainly more healthy than I was 10 years ago. Sure, I eat chicken, fish, even some pork now and then; but I leave the beef to the animals that can hunt and kill a cow. It ain't me.

I'm not totally sure why you put this question on this forum, but I will answer from my viewpoint. God originally created mankind to be vegetarians and did not give the o.k. for us to eat meat until after the Biblical account of the flood, and even then certain animals were taboo. But according to Paul in the New Testament, we are not under the old law and each person should choose for themselves what is right, condeming no one for the choice they personally make.

1 Corinthians 10:23-26 All things are lawful to me, but not all things profit. All things are lawful to me, but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own, but each one another's. Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no question for conscience' sake; "for the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness of it."

I'm a vegetarian but I don't feel eating meat is wrong. I personally do not eat it because of the way that animals used for food are treated. I will not support the fact that the meat industry knowingly and willingly tortures animals. I really don't care who eats meat and who doesn't. I just don't want to be a part of such a cruel and inhumane practice.

I'm not a vegetarian. But I think that they have found a way to get the necessary nutrients without eating meat. They would rather animals not die for them to eat, since it is no longer necessary. It is a personal opinion. I'm sure if you put then in the wild, they would have no problem killing an animal to survive.

I've never said that it was wrong. It just feels wrong to me. I understand that living and dying are just parts of life that we go through. It's not my grievance that animals die as they hunt each other. I feel in the manner in which they are killed is what upsets me.
I think half the production of animals is wasted as we use so much land to breed them on when we could reserve that land for the wheat, corn and water companies use to raise these animals. Those resources can be much better spent feeding people in Africa.
I do not condemn people for eating meat. Though I feel most people are so ungrateful on what is put on their plate that they waste it.

We as humans have more complex minds and all have our different reasons. Some might tell you that we have evolved beyond that and can find our own food. Some might tell you that everything we touch we destroy and we might just end some species. Some might tell you that other animals eating animals is natural, while we cage animals and watch them grow just so we can eat them. They never know natural life nor will they ever have any chance. So much of our existence is so unnatural.

Scripture allows meat eating with some limitations. I certainly do not want to contradict YHVH. As disease increases, and bad things are done to animals to get them ready for market, I would advise against meat from normal channels for health reasons.
