My dentist is the nicest, kindest, sweetest lady on the planet. They do exist, but you might have to "shop around". Good luck.

He/she is probably from the old school and they were not taught to be friendly, they were taught to get the job done.
If your not happy or dont feel at ease with your present dentist contact your local Primary Care Trust and ask for other dentists in your area.
Going to the dentist is traumatic enough for some people with out the added stress of their dentist being less than friendly.

I used to feel the same. When I was little I always feared the dentist. But I suppose it's a common issue. I know how you are feeling at the time being, believe me, I passed throught the same. But I think you should try to overcome that fear, because afterall going to the dentist is worthy so that you can verify your teeth and the state of your mouth. You can do it!
Good luck, I hope this helps!

Go to a few different offices in your area and meet the actual dentist before you make a decision. Most dentists are more than willing to make you feel comfortable and at ease while they clean your teeth.

Ask one of your friends to refer you his/her dentist. shop around I found one who's really friendly, he knows I'm afraid and puts me at ease.
Well, I don't really relax, but I am a bit less anxious. You should let the dentist know that you are really afraid.

He's a dentist, not a hairdresser. He's there to fix your teeth not have drinks with.
