I'm sure you will get the answer to this question from knowledgable people on this site but......
I do not know the answer to this and that is why I do NOT breed dogs (among many other reasons)
Shouldn't you have researched this BEFORE you decided to be an irresponsible pet owner and breed your dogs???
Shame on you!

Depends on the temperment and tolerances of BOTH the male and female. I leave my girls and boys run together during the pregnancy when I am at home (otherwise they are crated in their own crates). My chihuahua male loves his babies and gets to see them when they are born (with me holding them, he licks them, it is soooo sweet) and then play with them when they are about 5-8 weeks old. Some of my females like this and some don't. Just as a caution I would never leave any of my dogs access to the babies without my being present otherwise bad accidents can occur and I watch momma closely after the babies arrive to be sure she understands what to do to care for them and to monitor her health. I also check her several times a day until after the babies are weaned to make sure she is well. same goes for the babies until after they go to their new families.
I do recommend getting a exercise pen and a crate you can take apart for the momma, this way her and babies have a bed, but she also has food and water close by, and when the babies are moving aroung they have a safe place to romp and play till they are bigger. The pen will also allow the male and female to see/sniff/interact each other and the babies to see/sniff/interact with their father. And possibly a crate for him if he tries climbing in with the babies or shows agression towards them.

If the male has no temperament problems, he should be fine with the pups, although when they're very young the mother probably won't appreciate his presence, as if can be distracting. Our bloodhound was notorious for his love of puppies, even though he was neutered and never sired a litter himself.

Yes, the male dog could kill the puppies, or the female might accidentally kill them while trying to drive the male off. Separate them!
And PLEASE go and do some RESEARCH on breeding right away! If you need to ask this question here, you don't know anywhere near enough and you are endangering your b*tch and puppies.

E-mail us at Pet_service@yahoo.ca for more information.
You should separate the two dogs so the male dog won't disturb the female dog. After about two weeks after the pregnancy until the male dog could go close to the female dog.
Have a nice day!

u can leave him with her if you want to but once the puppies are born you must seperate them until the puppies are ready to go to new homes but if you can prevent even then that would be the best as the father sometimes eats the pups.

Has she had the puppies as yet??? Allow him to have supervised visitation. My male loved the puppies and got in the bed and tried ot let them nurse him, even though he didn't have the right equipment. But he bathed them and was a great mother> We would have deprived him of that lovely experience if we had separated them>
But watch and don't let me in if he seems aggressive.
