Anyone who has had joint replacement or fusion for arthritic hands?

Asking for my boss. Please reply if you have had either of these procedures. wondering about post-surgery physical thearapy, healing time, uses, limits? are you satisfied with results? we work in a Deli, so hand movement capabilities are a nessessity.

Have not had it, but a friend had it done. He stated while it has solved the pain, he cannot flex his wrist so that is kinda embarrassing when he goes grocery shopping. If the item he wants is on a high shelf, say in a box, he has to ask the sales assistant to help him as it is impossible for him to flex the wrist. He can reach the box, but cannot dip the wrist to go down into the box to get the item. Good Luck
