*Is Catholic*

A non-baptised non-Catholic can go to confession but cannot be absolved of one's sins through the method of confession. You would simply just go into the confessional and tell the priest that you are not baptised but want tell him of your sins. The process is exactly the same but the priest doesn't absolve you (or if he does, it doesn't actualy occur).

It is not necessary to tell your sins before baptism as the exorcisms prior to baptism + confirmation (which you will be doing at the same time) will take care of that as the renunciations of the devil are much stronger and the acts of contrition are implicit in these things. However it is a good idea to talk with a priest especialy if you have strong attachment to certain sins and or reoccuring habbits and vices. That way you can become comfortable getting things out into the open and can prevent any "back sliding" once you are baptised.

The first Hoy Sacrament you can receive is Baptism. You cannot receive the other Sacraments until after having been Baptized.

GOOD NEWS: Because you've never been Baptized, ANY and ALL sins you may be carrying with you will be washed away upon receiving the sacrament of Baptism.

You see, you need not receive Confession before Baptism because your sins will be washed away as part of the reception of Baptism.

Therefore, you've nothing to worry about.

You may always confess you sins before God, and God is all Merciful; however, without the Sacrament of Baptism or the subsequent Sacrament of Pennance, Roman Catholic's believe that we cannot be reconciled with God for those Sins as we are incapable of making a true act of contrition, that is, we are unable to be truely understanding in why and how we have sinned. Hence forgiveness with certainty by both Christ and the Church comes in the Confessional, as the Sacrament is an encounter with the Real Christ, (We believe that the Priest is not a "priest" or man in the confessional, but our only High Priest, Christ Jesus) who, because of (and not in spite of, Luther's belief) our sins, and the "Form" and "Matter" of the Sacrament (the Form being the rite or words of the Priest and the Matter being our sins, our confession, our act of contrition, and our pennance), grants us necessary forgiveness, or in otherwords, as long as the rite is followed, it is an encounter with God's Grace.

Once you are baptized, all of your sins up till that moment will be forgiven. Each week when you recieve the Sacrament, your Venial sins are forgiven, with your Mortal sins waiting until the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

But in short, you cannot practice the Sacrament of Pennance until you are initiated into the Roman Catholic Rite.

It most certainly will raise the eyebrows of our excommunicated protesting friends, but this is communal belief as Catholics. I hope that helps!

if you are coming into the Catholic Church at Easter through RCIA... at some point you will have a The Rite of Reconcilation with a Parish Priest, other wise known as Confession. It is part of the process.

Veniel (minor) sins are forgiven by sincerely asking God for forgiveness (yes, this is Catholic teaching). Mortal sins, those that lead to death, are forgiven by going to a priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

At Baptism, all of your sins will be washed away. If you are in danger of death before Easter, you can be baptized ahead of schedule.

If this is still causing you worry, go talk to your priest.

You don't have to confess your sins. Just stop doing things that are morally wrong and learn from your mistakes instead of relying on some mythological creature to magically erase everything you have done wrong. If you didn't do anything wrong how would you learn and grow as a person. Don't worry about speaking to some acid trip creation by a group of old men as a means to control the population. Think for yourself.

You do not need a church, building, priest or anything to talk to G_D. Anyone that says otherwise, run from them.

You ask for forgiveness of sins by talking to Him. Read Acts 17.
