Pick her up quickly, put her in the litter and rub her front feet in it for a second. That's all it should take, unless she doesn't like the litter you use. Try unscented.

Be patient, but firm. She's in a new home and she's probably a little scared. If she makes a mistake, get a paper towel and pick/blot it up, put the paper towel and mess in the litter box. Take her to the litter box - if you can pick her up then that's great, otherwise gently pull the scruff of her neck (it's what her momma used to do, so it's okay) and take her to the box. Show her the paper towel, show her how to scratch the litter to cover it up and make sure she smells the paper towel.
It will help her understand where the pee and poo goes and what to do with it. Also make sure that she has the smallest box available on the market, the sides might be too high for her to get into. Make sure she's got clean litter and that the box is in a room that is easily accessed by her.

Did you start her off in a safe room? A small room such as a bathroom? Also, kittens have trouble holding it very long, so she may not have time to make it to the box or may not be able to find it in time. Make sure you have several spread around the house with at least one being on every floor.
Try putting her in a small room for about a week (let her out to explore and play with you present), show her the box but don't rub her paws. That is uncomfortable for the cat and may turn her off the box. Just place her in, let her leave, and she will go back when needed.

First thing, don't get mad at her! Where about's is her litter tray placed? Make sure it's away in a corner or not in the middle of a room etc. I also read once that cats don't like their trays to be near their food bowls. And how old is she too?

I'm willing to bet the poor thing was taken away from its mother too soon. That is a big problem. All you can do is make sure you keep the thing clean and keep showing her how to do it. Be persistent and keep trying. It takes time.
One thing that might help is if you put some of her waste into the box so she will know that is where it goes.
Next time don't take a kitten if it has not been properly weaned from its mother yet! Good luck!

Have you put her in the litter box and shown her how to use it. Some cats have to be shown. Just be really gentle and talk nicely to her. Put her in the box and take her paw and gently scratch the litter with it. You may have to do this on a few occasions, but she'll get it. I haven't had a cat yet that hasn't figured it out. Don't worry. Just be patient

Don't suppose your parents got you "potty-trained" in 4 days.
If she has an accident elsewhere, quietly pickup her up and put her in the litter tray - she'll work it out soon enough.
Don't shout at her while you're doing it or she'll associate the litter tray with being shouted at.
PS: Fully agree with Mr Taco below

You need to pick her up and have her get used to being handled and petted. I would start with setting her in your lap and petting her but only for short periods at a time. When she poops outside of her litterbox, put the poop in the litterbox and then place her in there. Every once in a while just pick her up and put her in so she remembers where it is and knows that its there and within no time she'll be trained! No worries, this is normal.
