II Peter
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:"

This sounds like a prediction that people wouldn't believe in the Flood because they'll become uniformitarians, the assumption evolution depends on.

Without attempting to prove evolution, do you think this verse may have been about that?

if it says "all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation" it is definitely not about evolution.
It actually does says that creationists who say "all things continue from the beginning of the creation' are scoffers.
It does fit well. They are" willingly ignorant that the heavens are old" (young earth creationists).
I think my interpretation is of about equal relevance than yours...

within the context of the bible:

no, its about people becoming ignorant of their personal relationship with God and awaiting the Saviors return as if it is their right. They will forget that God once cleansed the earth by flooding it of all the people who though similarly.

nothing to do with evolution sorry.

No it was about the earth standing in and out of the water. They clearly thought there was a watery firmament above the earth.

No it is about the last days scoffers who won't believe no matter how much proof God presents.

There is a scientifically proven secret code in the bible that proves God is exactly who he says he is.....It is called the BIBLE CODE!!

no it has more to do with a mindset of a static universe..where every thing is constant and your saying things just don't change.
