I just bought a new Samsung hdtv with the hdtv reciever built into it. It is 720p I think. I am new to the hdtv, so how can i view all the channels in hd? We have a digital cable box with the three a.v. inputs; red, yellow, and white. But when I connected the tv to the box, the channel quality seems lower than before in widescreen. howcome it isn't crystal clear like in the stores? thanks for any advice and help as i am not a technophile type person lol

You need to change your cable box to an HD cable box to get those HD channels. Also you will need HDMI cables or the component AV cables to use with your HD cable box.

You can buy a HD antenna also for cheap to get those local HD broadcast channels in your area for FREE.

First, you will need to subscribe to HD service from your cable company. It's not automatically there. Contact your cable company.

Second, you will need a new cable box that supports HD and has different connectors. Again, contact the cable comapny.

The three A/V (Red, Yellow, and White) are not capable of carrying the HD signal. You'll need a cable box with component connectors (5 plugs all different colors) or a digital connection like HDMI that your TV will accept.

Once you've done the above, and tuned to an HD channel, you'll see the difference.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you've only completed one piece of the journey to HD content.

Digital cable is not the same as HD. It may actually look worse on an HD tv as the tv is more able to show the inperfections in standard definition.

You need an HD tv cable box from your cable provider. Once you get that box there will only be certain channels offered in HD. There will only be something in the area of 20-40 total hd channels unless you have an unusually generous cable provider.

In terms of playback media, you should already be seeing some improvement in the look of standard DVD playback, but to really utilize the capabilities of the TV you would need to upgrade to Blue-ray or HD-DVD formats.

Hi, well even if you got digital cable, your just connecting with regular AV Cables (red, white, yellow) to take full advantage of your HDTV, you need to have the High Definition Cable Videos, that include (Green, Blue, Red) and the regular white and red from normal AV cable to hear sound, thats probably why you dont see the colors or the video at the maximum possibilities

the 1st answer surprisingly lots explains it. yet, in all fact, the respond on your question is which you may not take finished benefit. Pay the greater twenty dollars a month and you'd be chuffed. I advise going to directv as via the tip of this twelve months, they are going to be offering the main hd programming. additionally, the HD which you're in a position to observe via your off air antanae should not be as severe of top quality in comparison to satellite tv for pc, cable, and fios.
